FCASP2.5 Premier Series Synthetic Reed for Alto Saxophone, 2.5 Strength

Playing through an alto the Fibracell changes some of the tone that I am used to hearing, but the advantages outweigh the slight tone difference. It slightly moves the midrange up, and slightly makes it a bit brighter. Not a huge change, but it is a different tone than cane. Fibracell plays right away, and keeps on playing, takes the worry out of a performance, gives me more confidence. Update: After using these for a while I tend to like the way they cut through and add some volume as well. I am purchasing more of the same. I still have a ton of cane reeds and they work real good for recording, and I won't quit on them as the really best tone comes from a good cane reed. Best of both.

I just want to say to the company how greatly I appreciate your kind gesture. As a professional sax player you don't always get the kindness shown like that. [...] As a sax and vocalist the main issue I have with regular reeds is they dry out while I'm singing. If you watch this you tube you can see I can start playing immediately, which for a artist like me that is the greatest thing possible. Then to mix the trifecta, it actually makes me sound like I know what I'm doing. If you are a teacher they are your students best friend. I play 3-6 time weekly and I get an average of 3-4 months out of one reed. If you have not tried them, don't knock them. If you don't like them, keep your opinions to your self cause one mans trash, well you know the rest. Just means you need a better mouth piece. ☺️ Thomas Love

This reed is amazing and plays instantly without having to wet it first. It also lasts way longer than any other reed I have used in my experience. The reed is definitely worth the price and especially helpful in a marching band setting where quick set up along with loud, clear notes is important.

The hardness of Fibracell is tend to soft which make it become perfect match with open tip mouthpiece. Easy control, low resistance, natural sound. The only problem is it's product life is shorter than the other synthetic reed.

Closest to a cane reed I’ve ever trued. The best part for me is I don’t have to wet the reed. As a singer who sometimes plays sax, this is huge!

Sturdy but at a cost to the sound quality. Plays right out of the box with no prep but the sound is more bright and honky than I like. I may use it occasionally when I need to be ready to play in a minutes notice but overall I won’t be purchasing this again.

My sax instructor recommended I try fibracell because I usually play tenor and only hop on alto occasionally. So I don’t have the best luck having a good cane read ready to go. When I got this reed, it immediately played better for me than the cane reed that was working best for me recently. I don’t notice anything weird about it. It’s feels like a cane reed and doesn’t taste or smell weird or anything. Totally happy, should probably buy a couple more right now. You don’t have to worry about humidity or soaking or breaking it in. I just wipe it dry when I’m done practicing.

I have been playing just over a year. This has become my goto reed. Very easy to play. I also have a 2.5 for days when i am blowing harder and over power this one. It does not sound as good as my Legere Signature 2.0 but is much easier to control. I am looking forward to trying the new Legere American reed
