Not toxic to human and pets
I buy this because itโs very effective shielding my yard from unwanted snakes and also because itโs safe around my grandchild, my family and my pet. Another reason is that nearby Magic Mountain Theme Park buys in bulk each summer to prevent rattlesnakes etc from injuring patrons. Thatโs another great reason why I buy only this brand!

Safe around pets but snakes donโt like it
This is my favorite snake product. Easy to use, I spread it around my chicken coops and house foundation. I just have to remember to refresh after a rain. As you can tell by the picture, this guy snuck in after I took too long to purchase more product. I sprinkled some around this guy and waited a minute and once he realized he didnโt like the odor, off he went. Once he left I reapplied the product around the perimeter. I donโt mind the nonpoisonous snakes hanging around, as they take care of the mice. I just donโt want them in certain areas where they scare the crap out of me when I run into them.

Stuff works great...until it rains.
This stuff worked wonders helping me rid garter snakes out of my mom's backyard. The stuff smells good to humans but snakes hate it. Just be careful not to apply if there's any rain in the short-term forecast as it makes the stuff worthless. BUT, if there isn't any rain, this stuff is great!

Havenโt seen any as of yet!!!
We have used it for 5ish years being in a very high rattlesnake populated area. Our neighbors states that they would see a few at least once a year during the spring/ early summer. We lay it around the outside of the gated area, a river rock divider between our driveway and our neighbors driveway and we have not seen one. (THANK GOODNESS!!!) We also had our grandma buy some since she is in the hills in northern Cali, and has also stopped seeing them on her property. We count it as a win!

Maybe helps some
It didn't get rid of the snakes like id hoped. They moved and then returned to their den after rain. I assume it's washed away. Re applied several times and same results. May not be a permanent solution.

So far no snakes in my yard

DOES NOT WORK. Rattlesnake Bit my Dog.
Seriously, it doesn't work. Save your money and invest in fine mesh chicken wire and zip ties! Use vinegar to wash away any signs of snake food (mice, squirrels, etc.). Remove any low lying vegetation where snakes can hide. We live in AZ, and yes, rattlesnakes are common in our neighborhood. We maintain our yard so snakes cannot hide easily. We had regular chicken wire around all access points in our yard, but some snakes find their way in. (It's a big yard next to open desert.) Bring in the SNAKE SHIELD! We figured it would help keep snakes out as an extra precaution. 3 BAGS later and two weeks later... Rattlesnake was on our back patio and bit our dog's face. Dog is fine, thankfully, but it cost $2,500 in vet bills ($500 for each vial of antivenin X 2, plus massive painkillers), plus time off from work. But the snake had to go over a nice thick line of SNAKE GUARD to get inside. Note we did two rounds of Snake Guard outside that particular area. Did not make a lick of difference to that snake. We ended up just buying a ton more chicken wire (not pretty) and resealing the yard.

Works Well
We do not have a serious snake problem, but I do not like opening the garden shed and seeing a garter snake going scurrying to hide! Last summer a Black Racer decided to move closer to our house to try to get to the birds nesting in a hanging basket of flowers. When I saw it zip under one of my shrubs to hide when I came out, I bought this and sprinkled it around the shrubs. The Racer quickly left and I did not see it again during the summer. At the end of the summer, I sprinkled some inside and at the doorway of my garden shed. I did that again this year in the early summer, and I did not see any snakes there. However, my nephew was told by a professional who came to try to rid his yard of Copperheads that the problem that comes from using a snake-away product is that if homeowners try to encircle their yards with it as a preventive measure, any snakes already inside the yard will not leave it. I guess you just have to decide what is best in your situation.
