I've been having difficulty charging two Sony controllers with the front USB cable. Since buying it, it fast charged the newer Sony handset Still having issues with the older controller which I put solely down to the controller/battery. Probably should have bought this earlier. Charging from the socket (stick side( seems the right approach. Will buy for a PS5 when the time is right.

Awesome. My rear charging port was no longer charging properly. I’m assuming the connection was getting worn out from the micro usb, which has been known to happen on the PS4 controller. This dock charges it fully using the bottom connection point now.

I've had this thing for a good 4 years now, still charges great. Although the display has always been slightly buggy, and barely works anymore. Not taking off a star for that though because this thing works like a dream. My controllers were so old that the usb ports n top didn't work anymore, this charger was perfect as it used the bottom ports! My controllers are always charged now and they are conveniently stored on the dock as well!
