Once you have this centered on your device it takes a few tries to get used to propping up the laptop with the stand. It is very sturdy when the laptop is placed on an even sureface, of course, and I don't have to crouch so much to view the screen. I can use a wrist pad when typing but if you're used to playing the piano with your wrist up, you will be comfortable using the keyboard with raised wrists. One downside is if you don't need to use the stand, the laptop will wobble when typing. I have used this stand on a table, round bar stool, countertop easily with the stand engaged.
