AkPharma - Prelief, Heartburn Relief, 300 Caplets (FFP)

I found out about Prelief on this site. I saw that many commenters had discussed this product. I read the reviews and thought I'd try it. Lord have mercy, it really works. I never thought I'd have bladder issues, but here I am.My story. Came down with a heinous UTI in July. Crawled into urgent care. The pain, burning and the constant needing to go was making me insane. Dr. gave me Cipro, and a few other anti-fungals that knocked out the UTI. A few months later, another one. Diabetes was ruled out. Took another round of anti-fungals and antibiotics and I thought I was ok. A few days later I felt that uh oh moment of urgency. I wanted to cry.So I started searching for answers and I didn't like what I found. I may have a version of IC and in fact many of the symptoms of IC I have. I found that my bad habit of diet soda and coffee was killing my bladder and as I got older it caught up with me. I also realized diet soda made me hungrier. The irony, diet soda makes you hungrier so that outweighs all the calorie restrictions you did in the first place. I had to cut out almost all forms of soda, coffee and tea. Man is it hard. I'm so addicted to it. But the pain of my bladder out weighs my desire to committ bladder suicide by drinking more carbonated drinks.So now, I only drink one cup of coffee in the morning. I also have a glass of water right besides it. As I sip a few sips of coffee, I have a gulp of water. With breakfast I have cranberry juice on ice. That helps a lot. I had purchased some dried peppermint here from Amazon and I'm now steeping that as iced tea. That's soothing as well.Usually around noon I have one can of diet soda with lunch. I'm enjoying it less and less. I guess that's good for my wallet and my bladder. I'm also having less joint pain. For dinner I usually have a raw salad with fresh squeezed carrot juice. I never have any pain with that type of meal.So today, I thought well let me and my husband have some pepperoni pizza and diet soda. BIG MISTAKE. I felt it right away. I was so mad at myself. I took a Prelief and in a short amount of time, the bladder pain was gone.I've read that when your bladder is really damaged by excess amounts of sugar, diet soda and other crap, it scars it. It takes a long time to heal. About 3-6 months before it's back on track.As a menopausal woman, I now have to greatly scale back my young/teenage diet, which was lots of spicy food and diet soda. I can have them now, but in very limited qualities, if at all. I now eat cooling foods. Cottage cheese, yogurt, raw salads, veggie smoothies, cool clear water, steamed vegetables, rice, healthy greens, cold water fish, etc.With prelief and staying on an IC friendly diet, I'm confident I'll be back to my normal healthy self.

I have I.C. and this, along with my I.C. diet helps me "cheat" a little bit and helps avoid or diminish the pain in my bladder caused by acidic foods. Directions say to take 2 pills with each serving of troublesome food. I take 5 pills (before drinking one drink of alcohol or a medium-difficult meal) and that seems to do a pretty good job. These aren't perfect, but nothing is for I.C. But this does allow me to drink a beer or have a glass of wine with little to no pain (given the meal doesn't also have a bunch of other acidic components to it). I keep it in my purse and another bottle at home so I always have it around. Zero side effects. Worth trying for those with diet manageable I.C. who want to cheat now and then.

My urologist recommended this product. It was way to expensive at the drug store. Amazon vendor makes it more affordable for me since I can buy it in a larger size. It works great in helping control the spasms associated with Interstitial Cystitis.

This not only helps relieve acidity in food and drink, I also take it with medications that are in HCI form, which is an acidic salt. Really helps protect my stomach from that nauseous feeling. Good stuff!!

This product has really helped me get my digestion back on track. I like that it's made of simple ingredients, and based on my research, the ingredients are benign. This is my second order; the first bottle lasted at least 3 months. Speedy delivery, too.

This stuff is amazing!! I do not understand why my urologist has never recommended Prelief, unless he's afraid of losing my business. My frequent bladder issues have stopped. Fingers crossed for continued relief.

Great product. Allowed me to be able to drink a few beers without having any pain or urgency. I would recommend it if you suffer form IC or prostate related conditions.

Great product-recommended by Christian yoga teacher! I think it has helped me more than prescription strength Prilosec.
