The Adventures of Ook and Gluk: Kung Fu Cavemen from the Future (Captain Underpants)

When my 2nd grader gets invited to a boy's birthday party, this is what I've been getting as the present, and it works like a charm. Most of the boys are already familiar with Captain Underpants and Ricky Ricotta, which are really funny and goofy. My son loves how Harold and George [as Ook and Gluk] speak as cavemen, and several times he has instructed me in the "cavemonics" parts of the back of the book [Lesson 1: Turn "I" into "me"] -- these things are _hilarious_ to school-aged boys, seriously. Adults reading this will laugh in spite of themselves ["Let my people go and stuff," says one character, enslaved]. There's more flip-o-rama, of course, and it's just a fun, addictive book for boys [and probably for girls, too] ages 7-12.

Wowie. So funny and I really think it is fun for all ages. I always love how you misspell the words. I had tears in my eyes. This was so good!! I loved every part and I'd like to write a book too!! Thank you for inspiring me! Right now I am making a book called The Golden Feather. Hope my book will be awesome like this book was!! Oh, and I forgot. I am also making a serie called Holiday Secrets. Well... my final opinion is..... THIS WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My eight year old son really likes Super Diaper Baby so when I discovered Ook & Gluk (written by the same guy) I was hoping he would really like this one too (he is picky and avoids reading.) He loves Ook & Gluk! Reaching his school quota of reading minutes isn't difficult with Dav Pilkey books. At the back of the book they have a 'coming soon' Ook & Gluk Jr, Kung-Fu Cavekids in Outer Space. We can hardly wait for it to be available. Ook & Gluk has all the elements a boy likes. I recommend Cavemonics be your second language. It fun to talk caveman.

I like this book a lot. Its great for kids 7 and up! I would recommend this book for your child! The only problem is that people fall in love and it uses one bad word. Otherwise, great book! They find a kung fu man and exciting things happen. Finished it in half an hour.

Dav Pilkey hasn't lost his touch with kids. The illustrations are sheer joy. There is even a moral to the story. Remember it's a book written by 2 elementary school boys, so there are misspellings. Dav Pilkey uses this method to encourage kids to write. It may seem appalling, but it does work. My son has been inspired by Pilkey to write and draw his own comics. Out of the ordinary methods or thoughts will always be reprimanded by fearful, ignorant people. Take a lesson in history. Mark Twain and George Orwell both revered authors, once had their books banned. I think after Pilkey has published over 45 books, which he has not only written but illustrated himself, he may be on to something. KEEP AN OPEN MIND. Check out Pilkey's other books: GOD BLESS THE GARGOYLES or THE PAPERBOY. Poetic and stunning art. I believe many adults and kids have lost the magic of pure imagination and also a sense of humor.

In this book,my favorite part about it is the action! But the action is good in many different ways. Ook and Gluk are clever, they are funny and good-hearted, and i think that every book should have that in them. This is one of my favorite books. And i love action, reading and graphic novels, so this book is perfect for me! It should be perfect for everybody.

My son loves the captain underpants series. He loved this edition as well. No complaints it was perfect for his age. Easy to read.

10/10 plot idk why it was banned the ppl finding it racist have nothing else to do and as for misspelling, it is written by main two kids of captain underpants series and is clearly written on cover to give it originality.

this book is great for kids under 14 but really its for all ages mostly people with good sense of humor. i rwcomend it or everyone and it makes me laugh if im being honest. :) :D ;) ;D

Fun and easy to read for the children. They literally "eat" the book. Recommendation, have more Dav Pilkey e books.

He comprado a mis hijos (6 y 8 años) toda la colección de Capitán Calzoncillos, Polican y algunos sueltos como éste de Ook y Gluk o el Super Pañal. En inglés, todos del mismo autor. Lo bueno: mis hijos se han aficionado a la lectura, se "comen" los libros, de aquí hemos saltado a otro tipo de literatura más formal. También se han lanzado a dibujar cómics gracias a la guía que viene al final de cada libro. Lo malo: el inglés no está correctamente escrito, demasiado "slang", palabras que el autor escribe como suenan a propósito y no en su forma correcta, la caligrafía también es de niño pequeño. Le pongo 5 estrellas porque es la puntuación que le pondrían mis hijos y por mi parte, porque ahora les encanta leer.
