Needs a bigger water filter and water heater, it’s OK for the money.
I got the 20 gallon glow fish tank set up. It’s a decent fish tank no leaks or defects. The water filter is a tetra whisper 20 and it runs nice and quiet. The suction line for the filter only goes about halfway down the tank so it needs an extra piece so that it reaches further down. It came with two sets of lights, a little set of blue lights or “Glow fish” lights and some white lights. The little water heater seems to work well holding the water temperature at 78° with an indoor temperature of 70. It is non-adjustable. It came with some glow fish fake plants which I would rate a soft 2 out of 10 for appeal. I mean they just look terribly fake LOL and what did I expect I guess. I bought a few real plants to go in there with I’ll probably take out the fake plants here soon. I bought the black gravel with pink green orange acrylic pebbles in there and the black gravel is super messy and hard to wash, just a heads up. Be super careful mounting the hood to the aquarium. The lid for the Fishtank is rather flimsy and if you put too much force on it it will break. A few things to mention as far as this being a starter kit for first time aquarium owners. If you have a 20 gallon fish tank try to get a filter that’s rated for 30 gallons. You don’t want to max out your filter. Kind of setting people up for failure putting a water filter that is maxed out at 20 gallons in a 20 gallon tank. Fish are messy you need a good filter. Make sure you prime your motor on your filter. It’s real simple just take a cup and fill the reservoir with some water so that your motor doesn’t burn out. If you have the ability to go to a pet shop. You will most likely save money on items rather than buying this kit. Now I tell you that because I am in rural Alaska and the nearest Petco or whatever is 200 miles away. But if you can go get a 20 gallon tank with a lid buy your own water filter, water heater and customize the parts for your fish tank you will get what you need for cheaper than buying this kit. Like I mentioned before you should get a bigger water filter and a adjustable water heater. The fake plants are just that fake and tacky looking. Just like anything if you have somebody else put things together for you it won’t be exactly what you want. I know I will eventually end up buying an upgraded water filter and an adjustable water heater. Make sure you don’t skimp on the Bacteria to help get your nitrogen cycle going. Some thing like tetra safe start will help you get your tank ready faster. It is not an end All fix all solution. You will still need to do water changes and test your water to make sure that the Ammonia and nitrite levels don’t get out of hand. But adding some bacteria will help you get the process rolling.

Cheap but cute tank!! Kids love it! It's a win!!
It's a cheap tank. I didn't have high expectations. I'm really impressed though!! It's adorable! 1. It's pretty darn cute! I LOVE the shape. The bow front makes the tank look bigger than it is. It arrived on time without any damage. It is one solid piece of acrylic. No leaks possible.. The only way it would get damaged is in shipping or if you drop the whole thing on the floor. It survives just fine in my house with 4 kids. Set up couldn't be any easier!! Super simple! It is SO quiet! The aquarium is in a bedroom, the very quiet white noise doesn't bother anyone. 2. Yes, the top is flimsy and could easily be knocked off by ..... for example a cat. 3. You still need to buy a thermometer, heater, air pump, tubing, air stone, decor (tons of cool decor on Amazon), extra filters, seachem stability/prime, and fish! It's all on Amazon too! (Minus the fish) This makes for one happy busy mom! 4. Glofish are NOT cheap. Think $9 per fish .... your fish might be worth more than this tank! 5. Personally I think it's a great starter tank to see if your kids are interested in fish. 6. FYI glofish are really cool! Colors are great and they really zip around. If you get the tetras the colors are easily seen and they have bigger bodies. Downside is that glofish are NOT very hardy fish. Keep your reciept! Glofish tetras like to be kept in a school. We have 5 that are all different colors. Is my tank overstocked? Yup it is! Doing extra water changes and being vigilant about water parameters helps alleviate issues. Are my fish happy? YES. They get along well and look super healthy. 7. Glofish food - we feed a variety of food. Flakes, freeze dried, and fresh veggies. They love peas, zucchini, and leafy greens. 8. So much cute decor to buy that is really cool looking. Kids are looking forward to rearranging the tank already! Update: 10/2021 We upgraded to the 20 gallon because kiddo liked glow fish SO much!! You can buy all the stuff separately cheaper ...... but Amazon is SO easy! Kid wanted 1lthe 10 gallon - I knew better and got the 20 gallon. Everything is great.

Such a gorgeous tank!!!!
I absolutely Love it. So much that I bought two! (No, you don't have to have GloFish fishes in it. If you do have them, you want this tank. However, it is an excellent all-round 20 gallon tank!) Really Love the wrap-around design. The look is superb. A couple things. ~I'd Love to see a redesign of the lid. Both the glass panel & the actual light hood do fall in the tank really easily! The "hplastic tab "hinge" that is supposed to hold the hood on is pretty useless. I'd like to hope that the electronics are sealed, as I'm not always a fan of reaching in to water to retrieve a plugged-in electrical appliance. lol If they would addrewss these two issues, I'm pretty sure it'd be the "perfect" 20 gal! ~I would also Love to see a remote for this!! I have the lights plugged into a "smart plug" so that I can turn it on & off, but I cannot change the color mode. If they All in all, this is an amazing tank & I absolutely recommend it!!!!!

this is a great tank
This is a wonderful little tank. we decided that we wanted to get a few fish, so we looked into options for a place for them to live. The first idea was a cute little led colored bubbler tank, but they topped out at three gallons, and we wanted the fish to have a bit of room. The normal everyday 10gal tank was out of the question, because we live in a small apartment and barely have room to move around as it is. After a bit of research into tanks we decided to go with this one as it has the nice led lighting, room for a small fish to move around, comes with a filter system, and wasn't really heavy. The only place we have to keep a tank in on top of a folding wire dog kennel that our cute little dog lives in, to much weight and we would not only be out a fish tank, but be shopping for a new kennel. A tank of this size means you have to be careful of which fish you choose to live inside it. Anything that grows to a large size is out of the question, the rule I found out is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. That means if you get fish an inch long you can put five in this tank without overloading it. If you wish to have more fish, you should get a larger tank. So this limited the choices of fish a bit. We ended up going with two of the fish the tank is named for glo-fish (one pink one green), and since it was on sale a little fiddler crab, (everything said we should wait on the crab as it takes awhile for the tank to grow the right kind of bacteria, but he is so cute we got him anyway) then we stopped at a pet store named for fish and picked some tiny neon tetra's and a couple zebra danio's. all the fish lined up nose to tail might be 4 inches(if you pull hard on each one as you measure), so with the crab (that does morning exercise), we are right at the limit for this tank. Little tanks mean more cleaning as there is no space for anything to hide. The fish eat, that means after the food is processed thru the fish it has to go somewhere, which means you have to get that back out of the tank. Plus new fresh gravel tends to cloud the water (something else I just learned), so has to be clean often. all this leads to every other day cleaning for the first month of ownership I am told. I didn't know it was going to be so much work to keep the little tank going, but its really not that hard to clean if you get a gravel cleaner (available at most pet stores for around ten dollars). It takes less time to clean the tank, than it does to pre heat the oven. I know as she was starting to make diner when I got off work and turned the oven on to pre heat, before it was ready for the food to go in the tank was cleaned and ready to roll. This all means that its not much of time consuming task to clean up. The fish seem very happy, they zip back and forth and dart thru all the decorations (not included with the tank but easy to find), and the crab climbs into places that make you wonder how it could possible get there. Its a very relaxing thing to have in the home as I find myself watching the little fish darting around instead of watching the television so much. Plus feeding time is allot of fun as the fish get to be really active trying to get all the food for themselves (they hate to share). For those of us out there without allot of space and with a desire to have little finned creatures zipping around in our homes, I highly recommend this tank. For those out there with more space I would say find something a lot larger and fill it with fun things like little freshwater sharks.

Don’t buy this tsnk!
First off, there were missing items (the food and the water treatment) but I had done on hand anyways, it took me all night to set the tank up, and let me say I’ve had fishtanks on my life… The last piece I put into the tank was the fish eater the red light came on for all of about 30 seconds and then went off the heater died within 15 seconds of being plugged in it was completely submerged of course. I contacted Amazon to tell them that I had already transferred my fish and that I have spina bifida and on and unable to return a 16 pound tank that’s already been assembled with my fish in it I have no other way or no other place to put my fish in the meantime . Amazon refused to send me a replacement heater and told me I would have to return the entire tank said just to get one $15 detachable item that would’ve cost them nothing to send me. I’ve been ordering from Amazon for about two years now and I use them often but after having this experience I will never buy anything from them again. These are living creatures it matters when there’s a defective item and they should take care of it immediately without question. A fish tank is a large thing to try and return especially after you’ve already transferred your fish into their new home. I had a smaller heater left over from the tank that they were in before and that is currently in the tank but it’s not enough to heat this new tank that is twice its size. So now I have to go out and purchase another heater on top of the missing food the missing water treatment and the broken heater. I should’ve read the reviews that people said these tanks were outdated and defective but since I bought the glow fish brand before twice before I thought maybe it would be OK. Except looking back now part of the reason I upgraded to this tank was I had the portrait tank which is tall and the inside filtration system started to fall apart and would come apart . He spent $130 on a tank everything should be working. Nowadays sellers not all but many don’t care once an item is sold they do not care if it works or not they do not care if you are happy or not and I find this type of business disgusting. I seriously hope that nobody waste their money on buying this tank. Go to a fish store or a good pet store and get a tank there were they were honor a defective item. I have nothing but regrets after all the work I put in to setting up this tank .

5 Glofish, Great Aquarium Kit!
So I loved the little glofish when I first laid eyes on them at the pet store, and decided I wanted to buy some. But everyone was telling me that they couldn't survive in a 3 gallon tank (which was my first choice). Then I found this little beauty! It's 5 gallons of happiness for your Glofish. Some people say they put bettas in it....I don't know why, its FOR glofish, but whatever:). So I bought the tank and the GloFish LED under-gravel bubbler. I also bought four Glo plants, a Glo treasure chest ornament, and the black gravel with Glo pebbles mixed in. Its so cool! It really does glow! As with all tanks, even with the included filter, if you're using tap water, it has to sit in the tank for 1 week before the fish move in to their new home. (If you are not buying a heater, which isn't a NECESSITY, just let them float in their pet store bag so they can adjust to the temp.) I bought 1 purple, 1 blue, 1 orange, 1 red, and 1 green glofish. People say they need 10 or more gallons but not if you buy the small variety (the ones that come in more colors). I have no space complications. They love the bubbler and the tank. They dart in and out of the plants, and school together at night under the blue light. I highly recommend this tank for 5 or less glofish! It's amazing. Also, the filter works fine, and it's an easy set up! ONE WARNING: my friend bought this fish tank for her glofish: they are very active little guys, and this tank doesn't have a lid. It's completely fine as long as you don't fill it to the brim, because her fish jumped up, and slipped right onto the floor...oops! Other than that, It's the perfect tank for beginners or enthusiasts. You will love your little fish even more when you order this aquarium! UPDATED REVIEW DETAIL::::: so i thought and said in my previous writing ^^^ that my tank had no lid. NOT SO! I received it without one, and was slightly worried, but yesterday i received a package at my door with a not of apology from the company: It says - "We are very sorry for not providing you with the best service, and leaving a part out of your 5 gallon GloFish aquarium kit! Here's the replacement." and thus I now have a lid. Couldn't be happier/\.

Meh it’s okay
It’s an okay tank. Couple issues. The light just hangs on the tank. The water filter suction device only reaches half way. And the clips for the lid didn’t work. It made the tank stay open. Also the door to open for the fish food is nonexistent so there is always a whole in the top of the tank. Which will let the heat out and make the heater work harder. Everything is there tho so I suppose it’s fine. Took a while to set up and took a while to figure out a few things. Also the glass is not tinted like most gliding tanks. Overall it’s decent. I’m not mad I spent the money but for 200 dollars. Could be more.

Everything included, nice kit, nice Aquarium
Don't want to jinx myself since I set it up today, but everything seems to be perfect. The only thing off is the only the blue LED lights are working, but that's not a big deal. The tank is only 10 gallons but came with a heater and all kinds of things including water treatment and fish food. I'm going to cycle it for a while make sure that it's nice and clean and everything has settled since it's a planted tank I didn't use the plastic plants they don't contribute to the health of the little ecosystem but an aquarium is). The plants look good; the water's already looking clearer; the filter's working good, even though I do have a replacement bc people say that the filter isn't too great but so far so good. It looks like a really nice tank and I've had more luck with larger tanks but I needed a space where I could watch fish and have a nice planted prettiness with LED lights in my room. Probably won't get GloFish except maybe get some Danios and a nice bottom feeder and then maybe get some other Cardinal tetras or something equally zippy and bright to move around in there against all that black background. Very nice beginner aquarium, I recommend. Fingers crossed that there are no major problems but it really is looking pretty good!
