One of the best books on the subject matter, that I’ve read.An excellent resource with many great ideas and insights, “Entry and Exit Confessions of a Champion Trader” is a quick read with just the facts. It allows the reader to customize their strategies by mixing and matching entries and exits from the code provided in the book. Each coding example is presented with quick, easy to understand explanations.Half way through the book the author stops to warn newbies that the entries aren’t simply plug and play. Don’t trust, you need to test. He also provides guidance to help point the reader going forward. “Entry and Exit Confessions” helps provide two key pieces to a successful strategy, entries and exits (finding and coding good entries and exits can be the bane of traders).I’ve already begun working on implementing some of these ideas.

I have read all of his books -- Found this one to have some good starting points for developing my next round of trading programs. His ideas and concepts provide a good foundation to expand on in developing your own trading systems. Pleased with the book, its cost and contents. I will purchase his future publications.

This is a great resource for 43 entries (41 + 2 Bonus) and 11 Exits that the author has proven work in live trading WITH APPROPRIATE pairing, market selection, time frame, stop loss and profit target testing. In other words, these are excellent time-saving code snippets that serve as trading ideas that need to be expanded into complete trading Systems. Purchasers are also given access to additional (free) Bonus Materials (ebooks, videos and code) -see page 94.What’s the value of this information? It is difficult and time consuming to research and develop automated trading systems from scratch with about 1 in about 100+ ideas leading to profitable results. Having access to methods that have proven up in live trading provides a TREMENDOUS head start and increases the likelihood of finding an approach that backtests well and remains viable in the future. Both beginning and experienced algorithmic traders will find something useful beyond just code (strategy idea resources; market logic vs machine-generated Logic; symmetric vs asymmetric entries; optimization pitfalls; equity charts with symbol, bar interval and session times). Are complete trading systems spelled out in the book? No, but take Entry #7 and TEST a fixed dollar stop and profit target on Unleaded Gas as the Equity chart on page 23 strongly hints! Similarly for pages 19, 32, 38, 45, 56, and 58). In other words, the author wants you to learn to “fish” to develop a skill. Page 92 outlines a development paradigm which has produced 200+ profitable strategies in the Strategy Factory. Contact the author to learn more!

An algorithm coding cookbook with examples as a sort of workbook for a crash introduction to coding daytrader entrances and exits to traders, using Tradestation platform. Contains some commentary on the methods throughout the book. Definitely not for the newcomer to daytrading, and benefit more for people with some simple computer programming who are already trading with some success. I plan to try out the methods using simulation.

Kevin’s book is outstanding as he shares his insights and trading experiences, good and not so good in this book. For the novice, such as I am, I would rate this book as required study for those desiring to become somewhat competent. Kevin dives into the theory behind each entry and exit which the title suggests. However, Kevin goes farther by providing the methodology that he has refined and proven. He has detailed the steps you need to use the tools he has provided and apply them for yourself. Personally, I’m just beginning to put these tools together. However, I no longer fear trading nor will I ever purchase another so called “killer” strategy by following Kevin. Their are allot of people out there that want your money and your time. Get the book. It’s worth following this guy. He genuinely takes the time to teach what he knows but he also gives you trading wisdom. He’s been there and helps you not to make the same mistakes. I’ve bought those “killer” strategies and have been greatly disappointed. Kevin is not going to spoon feed you. You’ll get the tools you need to start your own path through the markets.

Kevin Davey is one of a few who is both a teacher and credible authority on trading, especially automated algorithmic trading. Kevin provides clear comprehensive information in his excellent free seminars, classes, and in his books that is essential to successful trading. This book is an excellent example that not only includes clear and detailed explanations of entries and exits, but also includes code, example equity curves, as well as valuable bonus material. All this is worth many times the price of the book!

It is a okay book, not really sure what the author was trying to communicate. Lot's of gap in terms of space and content seems like the author tried to write a book but not with enough materials. Also I see a repetition of content between his various books. I would pass on this book for sure.

This is a decent book although I've never built a strategy I'm now will to try. Kevin did a great job at explaining the code and he gave plenty examples. I'm going to purchase his other books.I wish Kevin would have should actual bar charts marked with entries as exits but you can't have it all. Over all I appreciate the work effort and dedication. Nice job Kevin
