Smart Plug, White - 1 Pack - Turns Any Light Into a Smart Light - Control with Hue App - Compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit

These smart plugs are excellent and have become my go-to. I use them heavily with automations, and they’ve been completely reliable. I run them with lava lamps on schedules and also use one on my amplifier and pedalboard through a surge protector, and they’ve handled everything without a single issue. They integrate perfectly into the Hue ecosystem and HomeKit, which makes them incredibly easy to manage once set up. Automations work smoothly, response is instant, and I never have to think about them once they’re in place. They are a little bulky, but compared to most smart plugs, they’re actually smaller and much cleaner looking. Overall, they’re simple, dependable, and do exactly what they’re supposed to do. A great entry point for building out a smart home and easily my preferred smart plug now.

This smart plug has been excellent so far. Setup is a breeze. it connects quickly and integrates into Apple HomeKit without any issues when paired with the bridge. Once it’s added, it responds reliably and fits right into my existing automations. I’ve purchased multiple units now, and each one has worked consistently. The connection stays stable, the controls are responsive, and the overall experience has been smooth enough that I’m planning to replace all of my remaining Wi‑Fi smart plugs with these. If you’re invested in the Hue ecosystem and want something that just works, this is a great option.

I operate in an Apple ecosystem. I always try to find products that work in the home app. I started buying Phillips Hue products 10 years ago. Currently I have over $2000 worth of light bulbs. Crazy I know but it is addicting. So the only complaint I have about their product is the hub can only have I think 50 or 55 devices on it before it starts creating problems or so I have read. I am currently at 49 devices. So I tried to start adding Plugs from another company because I didn’t want to expand the Hue system to another hub. The other plugs have given me problems. I get them set up and everything works. Months later they stop working. Then I have to reset them and they work again. So a few months ago we bought a pool. I would have to go out and manually turn the pump on and off. I was trying to figure out how I could add a timer to the pump for everyday circulation. I realized if I bought this plug I could not only use the timer function but then when we go swimming I could just use my phone to turn the pump on. Because I had issues with the other plugs I decided to go back to Hue for this. Hue products just work better. I have had zero issues with this plug. Timer always works as it should. It never looses connection. I tell Siri to turn on the pool and the pumps stats in 3 seconds or less. In 10 years I have not had to change a single light bulb. Every lightbulb inside and outside of my house changes colors. I might just have to get another hub and make my whole home Phillips hue. As far as I am concerned it is the best in smart home technology. I just wish they would make a hub for 100 devices.

The Philips Hue Smart Plug is exactly what I expect from Hue. It arrived quickly and has been completely reliable. There is not much to criticize. It is a little wider than a basic plug, but it does not completely block a standard duplex outlet. That said, you will not have enough room to stack two of them on top of each other in the same outlet. Integration with HomeKit is seamless. I already run Hue lighting throughout my home, and these plugs behave exactly like the rest of the ecosystem. They respond quickly to commands, feel well built, and I have not experienced any drops or connection issues like I have with cheaper smart outlets. If you are already invested in Hue and want dependable performance, this is an easy recommendation.

Another great Hue product. The smart plug works seamlessly with the Hue app, letting you turn any lamp into a smart light. Setup is quick, integration is smooth, and it responds reliably to schedules and voice commands. It’s a simple way to expand the Hue system without buying new smart bulbs, and it keeps everything under one app. Solid build, consistent performance, and exactly what you’d expect from Hue.

I wanted a plug that works natively with HomeKit and Alexa. I've tried numerous brands with various technologies using Matter over WiFi, Matter over Thread and just plain Cloud based connectivity using Alexa Skills. Matter over Thread would be my preference but the standard is too new and has too many problems. The one and only brand that I found to be both reliable and fast to respond is Philips Hue. It's because they have their own central hub. They now support the new Matter standard for their Hub but all their other lights and devices do not. That means you must still use their Hub. I have chosen not to turn on Matter because it does not support adaptive lighting for their bulbs in HomeKit. They say support is coming but who knows when that will be. Besides, whatever they're doing to keep compatibility between platforms is working great. These plugs work using Zigbee or Bluetooth so they do not take up resources on a WiFi network. They only offer the ability to program Power On Behavior. No options for LED control or timers etc. The reality is that most people will create automatons using the Hue App or the platform of their choice such as Alexa, HomeKit or Google. The LED turns green for a few seconds when the plug is on or Red for when it's Off. The LED does not remain lit and will turn off completely so it's not a distraction in a dark room. This plug is expensive compared to other brands that offer more but at the end of the day they just work, no hassles, no unresponsive messages, no worries.

The plugs work well with the Philips hub, I've got a bedside lamp plugged in and it does a great job.

I will say that this does work and I have not had any problems with it and it performs as it should. I do not have any complaints in that regard. But what I will say is that the cost is a little steep considering I have bought similar plug ins, that are Hue compatible, and they work just as well and at half the cost. There is no set up issues with the other ones (as some people would say there would be) and no connectivity problems (another problem people said I would have, but didn't). So if you are a big fan of Hue, spend the extra cash and go for it...but if you want to save some cash and get something that works just as well and not have any problems, do some basic research (like 5 minutes) and cut your costs in half.

All good

Awesome product

I don't use Hue without the hub, so I can't comment on that experience, but with the hub Hue just works for me. Very reliable, great control features, and super simple to use. Integrates well with Google and Smart things, and presumably with Alexa as well. I'm glad they branched out to plugs, as this adds additional versatility to the home setup. They're a little pricier than other options, but I've been using their products for almost a decade, and Hue has lasted while cheaper bulbs, switches, and plugs have failed, had connection issues, or been retired by their manufacturer.
