Sheehy’s Manual of Emergency Care (Newberry, Sheehy's Manual of Emergency Care)

I've had this book for maybe 2 years. I purchased it during my first year as an ER nurse and still carry it with me or leave it at home and refer to it when something comes up. The chapters are broken into sections, it's easy to navigate through, the content is good. The book does not go into every minute detail, but it gives you the nuts and bolts you need. Now that I'm 2+ years into my ER experience, I'm going to read this cover to cover to study for the Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) exam. I would recommend this to any nurse in the emergency department, new or experienced as a great resource. It's nice to have a quick refresher right at your fingertips when you're expected to be a Jack/Jill of all trades in the ED.

The format of this book is perfect for those who already know nursing and ER nursing. It is concise and to the point. I used it to prepare for the CEN exam and passed with flying colors. If you like textbooks that are to the point and lack wordiness, this is great one! I have worked in three different ERs and this book is in every ER library. It is a go to resource for evidence based practice, as seen in many ER protocol citations.

I bought this book to prep for the CEN exam. Love the layout, though smaller font, chapters are smaller and well organized making reading and comprehension manageable. Topics are well organized and thought out.

Great resource! I’ve been meaning to read it all but I mostly want to res on my off days. Still, the sections that I’ve read as reference are very comprehensive but still concise. Makes me feel more confident at work.

I got this book used, us you can see on the pictures it has some imperfections but in general book is awesome! It has so many great information.

Came better than described. Format is easy to follow for CEN review and there's photos for reference to what the book is mentioning. THIS BOOK HAS NO PRACTICE QUESTIONS. But is great for referencing what you need to answer practice questions.
