Solid and deadly
This thing is so much fun! Everyday I go out and blast houseflies, bottle flies, moths, mosquitos, etc. It obliterates small moths and mosquitos. The flies are pretty jittery so you can't get too close to them or they fly away. And if you're further away, it doesn't have quite the same power. If you hit a bigger bug, like a bottle fly or wasp, it won't instantly kill them but it will probably stun them enough that they fall down, and then you just pump, shoot, pump, shoot, pump shoot until they're done. Just extra fun for me! I've showed it to several male buddies and they all laugh and say they need to get one. However my wife thinks I'm nuts and feels sorry for the little insects I blast. I go out to our back porch light every night and am actually disappointed when there are no more bugs to assault - my fun is over. This thing is heavy and solid. It's definitely not like some cheap toy. In fact it takes a fair amount of pressure to pump/cock it. My one wish is that they had a larger salt reservoir. It seems I'm constantly refilling the thing after too much fun. Sometimes when it's humid you need to tap the gun a bit to loosen the salt so that it falls into the chamber, but it's not a big deal. The trigger is also a bit firm to pull - it's definitely no hair trigger - and could probably be made a touch easier to pull.

Every home needs this for it's first line defense against the fly nemesis
This is my first Bug a Salt. I bought it in May 2020 because I'm an adult with adult money and thought this was silly gimicky salt shooter that might kill a few flies. Also my wife hates flies and I could score some husband points by getting a gift that is potentially practical. And boy was it! This thing is so much fun and has killed hundreds of enemy flies in my home and garage! My wife loves it, our guests love it, and my nephew loves it so I get cool uncle points! Sadly, after 3 years of stacking fly carcases and salting bugs into oblivion, a tiny piece on the trigger mechanism broke and it no long pumps correctly :( . But I mourned for only so long before I bought a replacement shooter to continue the good fight! And upon reaching out to the support team that responded very quickly, I learned they have a 1 year warranty on the fly killing weapon of awesomeness, and 2 year warranty if you decide you want extra protection! My warranty is 2 years past as it's now May 2023, but how cool is that!? This bad mamojama lasted 3 years killing everything from flies, mosquitos, spiders (although they are heavy hitters) and a bunch of other flying things I'm not interested in learning the names of! My 2nd shooter I'm sure will last just as long and I look forward to the continued war between my clean kitchen and the fly menace! Also, I tried the "other guy's" brand to try and save a couple bucks and was SORELY disappointed. I returned it because if felt like junk, had some weird safety "features" and I didn't need 2 barrels to try and one up anyone. Spend money on the good stuff, dont buy crap.

So much fun
This is so much fun! I got this as a gift for my mother in law and she absolutely loves it. Itโs the perfect size for her to hold and itโs not heavy at all. We all love taking turns shooting at the bugs.. or each other. Definitely worth the money!

Fun to have, if you like taking out bugs, but take note, the flies/bugs won't like you... LOL
This is actually a lot of fun, especially if you find that you have a bunch of flies in your house or RV. It works well, especially if you are within about 3ft of your winged or six legged victim. I gave it 4 stars, because it think its a bit pricy for what it is, but it is built solid & well. Just remember that if you leave salt in the hopper, & you leave the gun in an area with high humidity, the salt will get clumpy. You can still use it, but I noticed it works better with fresh salt. They sell salt for it, but any fine grain table salt will do fine & be less expensive. Also, don't use this for take our a wasp nest... maybe an individual wasp is OK, but not a nest... and NEVER aim at anyone's face or person! ;-)

๐๐๐๐๐ 5/5 โ The Most Fun You Can Have With Table Salt (Legally)
I don't know why I waited this long to get a Bug-a-Salt! I bought it a after the batteries on my electric fly-swatter died for the tenth time and I felt like the flies began to mock me. I hoped to deal with the few rogue flies left buzzing around my kitchen. What I didnโt expect was to be transformed into a fly-slaying gunslinger, patrolling my home like it's the Wild West and every black speck on the wall is a wanted criminal. Let me tell you, nothing prepares you for the sheer satisfaction of locking eyes with a fly, slowly raising your plastic boomstick, and whispering, โnot today,โ before blasting it into the afterlife with a pinch of Mortonโs. This thing turns ordinary salt into justice. Itโs like seasoning the truth... with death. Itโs effective, too. Flies? Gone. Mosquitoes? Salted. Spiders? Evacuated the premises out of respect. My neighbor even leaned over the fence asking, โIs that the thing that shoots salt?โ Yes, Dave. Yes, it is. And no, you canโt borrow it. Get your own. Just a heads-up: with each shot, a pinch of salt does end up downrange. But hey, your floor gets a light seasoningโconsider it a built-in snack for barefoot guests. It's not a big deal though, my robot vacuum sweeps it all up each night while I sleep! In conclusion: If you hate flies and love pretending youโre an action hero in a kitchen-based Western, this is your Excalibur. Buy one. Or two. Youโll never look at a salt shaker the same way again.

Perfect gift for my dad
My dad has lots of flies/gnats that breed in his drain. Got this for his birthday and I think it is his favorite gift I've ever gotten him. I recommend getting the laser attachment too. Easy to use, good quality, and battery seems to last awhile. If you've got somebody who loves toys and tech, I recommend this!

This is my rifle...
Got flies? Hate swatting them and making a mess? Then you need a Bug-A-Salt. I have to honestly say that I WAS NOT reluctant to buy this because of the price. Is it relatively expensive? Yes it is...if you only think of it as a fly killing toy. When I first saw this on the Bug-A-Salt website, I immediately knew it would be effective (the videos do a great job of showing it in action). When I received it, I was even more impressed because the materials and construction are much better than I expected. I guess I expected something built like a Nerf dart gun. However, the Bug-A-Salt's plastic feels much sturdier (thicker) and the construction feels much more solid (no flex). This thing is an engineered tool of destruction...to the fly population. That initial sticker shock? It didn't seem so bad now. Loading the ammo (unjacketed, several thousand grain Morton's iodized salt) further demonstrated the high-quality build. The lid for the salt compartment felt very precise in its operation and closed so securely that I knew it wouldn't leak. Sticker shock decreasing even more. When it came time to deploy to the battlefield, I felt like the flies didn't stand a chance and that was the case. Say hello to my little friend. Cocking the rifle does require a good amount of strength, which feels less like a Nerf dart gun and more like an air rifle, which further reinforces that this is not a toy. The safety works great so you don't have to worry about any misfires (I don't recommend storing it cocked-and-locked though). The trigger action could be a little smoother and refined. You expect the trigger to pull straight back (because it looks like a single-action 1911 trigger) but it actually pivots like a traditional trigger which causes an ever-so-slight pinching of the finger. Be prepared for a very strong release of the ammo when the trigger clicks. It happens so quickly that the fly you were targeting disappears so suddenly. That's the only real drawback of the Bug-A-Salt...now I have to go looking for the victim. It will travel a good distance if you're shooting against an open range. This is truly effective and I only have to say is, "why didn't I know about this sooner?" Oh yeah, that sticker shock? Gone.

It works good
It works good, it's fun and the fly population has Shrunken from like 40 to like 3. You do need to be pretty close but it doesn't matter because as long as youre moving slow the fly doesn't care until it's too late it also comes whith a letter that is hand written. But don't use it in your bed unless you want to sleep in salt. But overall I think it's really good
