Works as intended
I find it a bit odd that there is no off button, but it automatically turns off after 30seconds or so. I'm using it to measure the drum speed on my coffee roaster. My only complaint (which is my fault because of my application) is that these rubber tips melt easily (my drum is 400F+). It would be perfect if they were made of high temp rubber, but i'll look for a solution on my end.

Contact tach
This is a neat little digital tachometer that works by holding against a rotating shaft. It comes with different tips, to best keep it centered on shafts with different end profiles. I checked against a known accurate tach, and it seems accurate. It is very easy to use, the controls are simple and intuitive. I would give it 5 stars if it came with an extended shaft or extended tip. As it is, it isn't quite long enough to reach a couple of my shielded shafts that I want to monitor. Had to try to find an extended tip separately. In my case the shaft is recessed a couple inches from the inspection hole in the housing. For any kind of shaft with an exposed end, it would be great.
