Does this feeder allow finches and blackbirds to feed? Does it prevent starlings feeding?

This feeder is really for the smaller birds, i.e sparrows, tits, finches etc.. however, as starlings have rather a long pointed beak, they do and can get their beaks in to feed!

Does this work in keeping starlings out?

Hi Declan, yes, it does keep mature starlings out. But it has been known for the smaller fledglings to be able to squeeze half way through to reach the feed of choice, but still an extremely good deterrent so the smaller birds can feed. However, starlings also need to feed, so maybe a separate feeding station area for the larger birds like Starlings, Magpies, Collard Doves etc 😉🙏
