JENOLITE Rust Remover for Metal Thick Liquid 500ml Quick Non-Drip Formula

THe liquid worked well but the bottle was only half full so didn't go far. Other than that worked well.

The JENOLITE Rust Remover Thick Liquid is designed to tackle rust and corrosion on metal surfaces with its fast-acting, non-drip, thixotropic formula. This 150g container promises to remove rust back to bare metal, making it an effective solution for restoring various metal objects and surfaces. Here’s an honest review of its features, pros, and cons:What’s Great:Effective Rust Removal:The JENOLITE rust remover works quickly and efficiently, effectively breaking down rust and corrosion. Users report significant results, with the formula stripping rust back to bare metal after just a few applications. This is ideal for restoring old, rusty items or surfaces without the need for aggressive sanding or scraping.Non-Drip Formula:One of the standout features is its non-drip, thixotropic formula. This means that the product adheres well to vertical surfaces and doesn’t run, making it easier to apply to walls, fences, or any other metal surface that’s not horizontal. The thick consistency ensures that it stays in place, offering greater control during application.Fast Acting:The formula is fast-acting, meaning that you can see results relatively quickly, often within minutes of application. This is a huge plus for anyone looking to complete rust removal tasks without waiting for long periods.Ease of Use:The liquid is easy to apply with a brush or cloth, and the thick consistency ensures it’s easy to control. You don’t have to worry about drips or spills, making it a more user-friendly option compared to thinner rust removers.Suitable for Vertical Surfaces:Thanks to its thixotropic nature, this rust remover is ideal for use on vertical surfaces like fences, railings, and car parts. It stays in place as you work, reducing the mess and making it easier to cover the desired area without the product dripping down. What Could Be Improved:Strong Odour:Some users have noted that the rust remover has a strong chemical smell, which can be overpowering, especially when working in poorly ventilated areas. Wearing gloves and using the product in a well-ventilated space is recommended to avoid any discomfort from the fumes.Multiple Applications May Be Needed:For heavily rusted areas, a single application may not completely remove all rust. It’s often necessary to reapply the formula multiple times, especially for thick layers of rust or in areas with stubborn corrosion. While the product is effective, it may require some patience and persistence for tougher jobs.Container Size:The 150g container may not be sufficient for larger projects, such as treating large metal surfaces or multiple items. It’s suitable for smaller or more focused tasks, but for bigger jobs, you may find yourself running out of product quickly and needing to purchase more.Surface Preparation:For optimal results, it’s important to ensure that the metal surface is clean and free from dirt before applying the rust remover. This might add an extra step to your process, particularly if the surface is heavily soiled or if you need to scrub away any debris before using the product.Noteworthy Observations:Ideal for DIY Projects and Metal Restoration:Whether you’re restoring a metal garden gate, car parts, tools, or other metal objects, JENOLITE Rust Remover is an excellent option for DIY projects. Its fast action and ability to remove rust down to bare metal make it ideal for metal restoration tasks.Time-Saving Solution:Given its fast-acting properties, this rust remover can save you a lot of time compared to traditional methods of rust removal, like sanding or scraping. It's a more efficient solution for anyone looking to quickly tackle rust on metal surfaces.Verdict:JENOLITE Rust Remover Thick Liquid is a highly effective and user-friendly product for removing rust from metal surfaces. Its fast-acting, non-drip formula makes it ideal for use on both horizontal and vertical surfaces, and it can restore metal objects back to their original state. While it may require multiple applications for stubborn rust and has a strong chemical odour, its effectiveness and ease of use make it a solid choice for rust removal. If you need a reliable, quick solution for rust on metal, this product is a worthwhile investment.

This is excellent stuff, but it needs several applications for deeper rust. I use a wire brush on a cordless drill to remove the residue ( between applications) and it will get back to clean steel, with clean pits where the rust has been dissolved. It’s most effective if you apply, then cover with cling film - this stops the Jenolite drying out, so it stays active for much longer (over night is good) and this greatly improves the effectiveness. Don’t breath in the dusty residue when using a wire brush to remove it as it is acid based, Wear a face mask.Excellent results if you are prepared to spend the time with repeat applications.

Did the job well I recommend it

This stuff works but it’s pretty disgusting (that smell!) and there are better alternatives that don’t coat your steel in a layer of grey stuff that’s almost impossible to get off. The words Bilt Hamber spring to mind.

Item as described, delivered on time, good seller 🤗

Easily applied bright coloured gel - so it’s obvious where you’ve put it. Works quickly and well to leave a clean finish

Very good used on body work of an old tipper
