Chromatica is Lady Gaga's sixth studio album. Featuring the single "Stupid Love." Review: Lady Gaga has embraced her iconic Dance Pop sound again and moves herself and the genre forward. - There are a few artists I consider close to my heart and Lady Gaga is one of them. Her first two efforts, The Fame and The Fame Monster, both came out when I was in my early 20's and it was a particular time I look back very fondly on. Born This Way was what I consider a fully realized evolution of Lady Gaga after exploding with The Fame. Admittedly it took me a few years to get into Artpop, but once I did, I really loved it. Cheek to Cheek I adored, it was a really awesome collab with Tony and Lady Gaga singing out worked very well. Then came Joanne. Ironically I only started loving Artpop about 6 months before Joanne was released and Joanne was a massive shift in style, and it was a shift I still don't enjoy. While there were good songs on that album and the whole concept was a very meaningful, I felt it was a half embraced direction. You could tell Gaga was struggling, and she was self admittedly. You can check my review of it on my Profile page. So this brings us to Chromatica, Lady Gaga's much anticipated follow up four years after Joanne and it is a return to form. I was excited when I heard the lead single Stupid Love and it brought Gaga back to her roots. If you were worried, there is nothing to fear, this is no throw back cash in. You can hear Gaga has grown since her last foray in this electronica sphere with Artpop. The production is fantastic, the music is great and Gaga sounds excellent. It is a very crisp album. Chromatica may also be the most cohesive album to date from Lady Gaga. The songs all gel very well together and the musical theme just flows. There is no jarring style change throughout the album and that isn't to say the album is boring or predictable, quite the contrary. The album was crafted so well, it's over before you know it and that's with 16 tacks. Ariana Grande and BlackPink are a nice addition(salty Black Jack here, wished 2NE1 could have done this as their style fits Gaga's so well, sadly they were disbanded) to Rain On Me and Sour Candy. However, Elton John's presence on Sine From Above really brings that song to the next level. Elton and Gaga sound great together and his singing is powerful. The album features some deeply personal lyrics for Gaga and it's pretty apparent. Chromatica marries The Fame's synth and dance beats, mixed with a touch of the more complex compositions of Born This Way, without sounding overly busy like some of Artpop and Joanne. The beauty really is the more simplistic approach to the music; the 80's synths, 90's techno, thumping bass, with soaring vocals and fun electronica. The Chromatica I, II and III all have great orchestral sound to them and each introduces the phases of the album. Chromatica, to me, really shows Gaga embrace the sound that put her on the world stage, the sound she seemed to be running from for more than half a decade. Gaga shows that she can continue to evolve that sound without it getting tired or dated. In doing so, Gaga has single-handedly moved her genre forward and raised herself up a level at the same time. Welcome back Lady Gaga. Review: GAGA - AWESOME CD.

Yeah, still the greatest. Just pick a genre
The fact I'm old enough to be Gaga's mother and closer to Tony Bennett in age, still makes me a "little monster". Chromatica was not what I was expecting. This is a throwback to pop-dance-electronica that reminds me of The Fame Monster. And, damn, that's fine. She is one of the most talented over all artists of this century and never, ever disappoints. Singing, writing, playing, performing, she proved (and she didn't have to) that she's the real deal. As the proud owner of all her work, Chromatica was a sweet, dance til you drop throwback. The amazing thing is, she can go back to her roots and it is not a step backward. Buy this album. You will not be disappointed. The chick has chops and is fearless. We could all use a little Gaga in our lives. I wanna be her when I grow up.🐱

Back to the formula....
2008.....When Lady Gaga first appeared it was a different world. I was starting my last year of high school. In those years life seemed much simpler. Into that: Enter Lady Gaga. A pop artist who appeared to be above all pop artists. I mean yes, we had seen juggernauts in Pop music before, but this was a weird dressing, alien esque one. One we needed at the time. Gaga came and shook up the pop world with her outfits and flare 4 dramatics....It seemed so simple then. Flashforward to 2011. I was out of HS and firmly situated in college. Gaga was still on the tip of everyone's tongue. In the summer she released what she called her magnum opus, "Born This Way". I remember the sensation she caused. It turned out to be kinda in vain. "Born This Way" was a great album, but because of its hype, it was doomed to fail to live up to everyone's expectations. Flash-forward to 2013's "ARTPOP" and Gaga was continuing her formula for success, but the formula was wearing thin. The formula? Dance + monster esque chant + slightly cheesy hook. She also usually makes songs out of weird title ("Judas"). Gaga has basically repeated this formula ever since "Bad Romance" and it was wearing thin. I first noticed this listening to "Applause", the lead single from "ARTPOP". Now, if it sounds like I'm bashing Gaga, that's not true. She does formula well. Still it's formula and that's what's resurrected this time on Gaga's newest release "Chromatica". Gaga has returned back to dance music. Her old stomping grounds. The formula is exactly the same and that's the problem with this new release. The Gaga of Artpop is back and she has delivered a slightly scaled back album, that sounds....well, like "ARTPOP". The main difference being the stronger direction of this release. You can tell more heart is in this release and that's a plus here. Still it's formula and it's evident that Gaga has seemingly run out of ideas. The good points about "Chromatica" lie mostly in the production. I love the 80's style production on its first single "Stupid Love". "Rain on Me" really could've been done without Ariana, but the track is great and reminds me of some of Gaga's earlier stuff from "The Fame" era. The album also benefits from it's running time. None of the songs meander, each of the songs are in their appropriate times and the album passes quickly, which is welcome here. "Chromatica" passes bye in a rush, but that's a good thing. It plays out like a well crafted album generally free of filler. The album doesn't pretend to be revolutionary and it's truly great that Gaga had returned to dance music again. The album has it's drawbacks and some of the lyrics and hooks 4 that matter, aren't as strong as past releases, but you can attribute that to the formula, which is really starting to become a detriment. Still this album is good for what it is -- A dance pop release that doesn't take itself too seriously. 4/5 stars. Recommended.

Lady Gaga is back!!! ,Her best CD in years!
The old Lady Gaga we know and love is back!.......And better then ever!, Chromatica is her best album since "The Fame" (2008), Every song is energetic and full of excitement, As if Lady Gaga had been waiting for years to release this album, The Electro Dance Pop that made Lady Gaga famous is back in its most glorious form that you can hear through out this awesome CD, Best songs on here: "Stupid Love", "Rain on me" (Ft. Ariana Grande), "Sine from above" ( Ft. Elton John), And "1000 Doves", But truthfully every song on here is excellent!, Glad I purchased this CD and added it to my Lady Gaga CD collection, Five stars!

I was initially worried I wouldn't like this album as the lead single Stupid Love took a while to grow on me and it's still probably my least favourite track on here. The second single Rain On Me I liked better but it's also not exactly the most interesting track. I'm happy to report however that I love this album! Gaga has released so many different kinds of music and that's great but Chromatica is very much a return to the dance pop sound of the early years of her career. Honestly I'm happy to hear that again, I would be happy to here whatever she brings to the table but I'm not going to pretend there is no nostalgia factor with this album. Unlike some of those early albums there are no songs that feel like they should have been left out. Every track has it's charm, I especially love her vocal work on this album. The interludes are not annoying parts you want to skip like they are for many albums with interludes and they transition beautifully into the tracks that follow them. Gaga's lyrics are pretty raw here, the album discusses a lot of the things she has been through and many of the songs are quite sad when it comes to the lyrics despite all being upbeat pop songs. Some standout tracks for me. Alice: the first track and possibly my favourite and one of her best openers. Sine From Above: This is the duet with Elton John, I expected it to be a ballad that I would probably skit but it's actually really good. It sounds like some sort of European dance anthem and they both sound great on it. Fun Tonight: This is actually a really sad song that I think might be about her fibromyalgia, it's a wonderful track though the chorus is especially lovely. Sour Candy: I have zero interest in Kpop it just isn't my thing but this collaboration is cute. The song sounds good all five of the people on it sound great, what's not to love? 911: This sounds like something from The Fame and maybe a bit like some of the tracks from Born This Way. With auto-tuned robotic vocals. It's probably the most unique track on here. The only down sides I can think of is that it's perhaps a little bit generic at times with the production. I wish her and her producers had gone a little more crazy with the beats at times. Born This Way did that and while that did result in some messy tracks it also resulted in some of her best work. Some of the tracks could also have been a little longer. I'd give this a 4.5 out of 5 but that's not an option on here and I'm not bumping it down to a 4. If you loved The Fame Monster and Born This Way then give this one a try. It's not her best album but it's her most cohesive and consistently good album in my opinion.

Comprei no final de 2020, lá por novembro. Foi uma sensação diferente ouvir no rádio, ouvi coisas que não são perceptíveis pelo stream. Um salve à mídia física.
