Review: Paper mate clear point, mechanical, pencils, right and erase easily - this is a great set of two sturdy clear point number two mechanical pencils. Excellent quality and they are made by paper mate. There are two erasers, two pencils and one set of lead for the number two pencil smudge resistant and work well for young children very versatile, and it writes smooth. Refills are readily available. Great product. I bought this for my 11 year-old granddaughter and she loves the pencils. Definitely recommended.
Review: Right now, this is my go-to pencil for EVERYTHING!! - Nothing much to say other than, I have an addiction to mechanical pencils since I write pretty much everything in pencil. My favorite lead size just happens to be 0.7mm; and since I'm addicted to mechanical pencils, I'm always shopping for new ones - usually different styles, brands, etc. As of right now, this is my favorite pencil. What I like about the pencil is how it has rubber around the bottom area, where you grip the pencil, and that makes it a comfortable pencil to hold. In addition, the lead isn't really soft, though it writes smooth enough that your words will glide across the page quite easily - so it feels like a soft lead. And since it's not really a hard lead - I believe it's HB - the lead has the ability to maintain a decently pointed tip, though not so pointed that it'll tear right through the paper. Since the pack came with two pencils, I gave one to my daughter, and kept one for myself, and have noticed that it is my "go-to" pencil because of everything I've mentioned, plus its design makes it easy to bring more lead out of the pencil - you click just above the rubber area where your fingers rest. Also, it's nice that the pencils also come with the ability to adjust and refill the eraser head by twisting the top. Adding more lead may seem a bit more tedious since you have to remove the top of the pencil with the eraser sits, but it 's really not too big a deal. One more note about erasing, I erase a lot - I mean - I erase a ton!! and sometimes when you use the eraser that is inside of the pencil, it can retract while you're erasing. It's the main reason that I only use that eraser for small mistakes. To combat that, I own several stand-alone erasers - I'm addicted to those as well, and for the most part, I use those for majority of my erasing needs because it's easier to cover more area and get a cleaner erase job that way. I've found that the this Staedtler Mars Latex-Free Eraser, White, 1 Eraser (STD52650) and this Faber-Castell Dust-Free Vinyl Erasers each are complimentary to the pencil - right now, the Faber-Castell is my favorite, though it's way softer than the Staedtler.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the eraser have a locking mechanism when it twists up? Essentially I'm wondering if the eraser untwists back into the pencil when you erase.**
A: As another replied, it twists back down... quickly IMO. However, don't let that prevent you from buying the pencil set.
I've used other mechanical pencils (I'm selective) and this pencil is superior... it writes very smoothly, colorful and comfortable. I'm a repeat buyer and better priced than what I'd get in store.
I love the lead size (not so common), you get extra leads & erasers AND if you're a test taker, it's #2 !
Untwist about 1/4" - 3/8" and hold in place to erase.

**Q: Are the pencils random colors or are they a certain color**
A: Hello Carlos,The pencils purchased would be selected by the seller at random. Thanks,Newell Brands Office Products

**Q: Where can you buy eraser refills for ClearPoint pencils? Can't find them in stock anywhere for months. Have they stopped making them?**
A: Thank you for contacting Newell Rubbermaid Office Products. We no longer manufacture the Eraser Refills for the Paper Mate ClearPoint Pencils. We do apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Newell Rubbermaid Office Products

**Q: Can you buy more erasers for this?**
A: There's no eraser refill specifically for each mechanical pencil. But we manufactured a standard eraser refill before with an item number 64892. You may try checking some office supply if they still carry it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product! I am now loyal to Paper Mate!
*by D***E on January 8, 2016*

Pretty straightforward product here. I love these mechanical pencils in particular because I'd tried to just purchase some cheap ones at Target a few months ago. I bought 12 for $.97 which I thought was an unbeatable bargain. However, the phrase you get what you pay for could not have been more true. The lead broke every time I went to jot down notes and the erases were flakey and left residue not to mention eraser crumbs got everywhere. With thee pencils you can be certain the lead is sturdy and therefore lasts much longer than cheap alternatives and the overall functionality is quality. The adjustable eraser means you won't run out of eraser or risky the entire thing breaking off. Whats more, theres an additional packet of lead and should you run out of eraser before lead you can easily purchase refills at a cheap price. These pencils are made to last and that cuts down on waste. Although the colors are random I received 1 cute purple pencil and 1 pink one which is lovely because purple is my favorite color. The look of the pencils and the colors are vibrant and I will take any small perk when I'm frantically jotting down notes in my graduate statistics course. It is a welcome relief to the cheap off brand I purchased earlier this year that would break off at the worst time which inevitably made me miss key points during class. Who would have thought having a reliable pencil could make such a difference? I sure wouldn't have before but this quality product has definitely made me a loyal customer. I will be purchasing them again when the time comes.
