Do I need a subscription to use FIXD?

No. You’re buying the OBD2 scanner; the app is free. Premium is optional and adds repair cost ranges, AI Mechanic, Mechanic Hotline, history reports, and forecasts. Free trial is included.

Will FIXD work with my car and phone?

Cars: Gas & hybrid 1996+; most diesel 2008+ (not EVs). Phones: iPhone and Android via Bluetooth. Enhanced systems like ABS/SRS/transmission are supported on many vehicles; coverage varies by model.

Can I use FIXD when shopping for a used car?

Yes. Scan any vehicle - even without a warning light. “Miles Since Codes Cleared” helps catch freshly erased faults. Premium adds cost ranges, value estimate, and unlimited history reports for negotiation.

Can FIXD clear the Check Engine Light after repairs?

Yes. After you address the cause, clear the light with one tap. We recommend a quick re‑scan to confirm the issue is resolved before long drives.

Can I leave the FIXD OBD2 scanner / sensor plugged in all the time? Does it need batteries?

Yes. It draws low power and only when the ignition is on, so you can leave it installed. Read‑only device: it can’t control or track your car and never needs charging. It does not require batteries.
