This well-made lid fits on top of a crock or other container to help seal out dust and other unwanted elements while your vegetables are happily fermenting.You'd use this in making sauerkraut or pickled veggies of all kinds.It works with a lot of different containers but make sure you have the right size lid for the container you use! This is a mistake that I made and had to correct by exchanging one top for another.The tops are heavy, well built, and will last many years. They are also well priced and ship quickly through Amazon.
