If you've worked in the automotive industry, you know what this stuff is. It is trim adhesive any kind of rubber or soft plastic, you need to adhere to metal. This is the stuff you want. For those of you that may not be as versed in using it, where disposable gloves and have some acetone. This is sticky stuff. Put a small amount on the surface of the rubber or plastic component spread thin, and then put a small amount on the metal surface that you're going to to adhere it to, let it dry for a few seconds. To where it just starts to get a little on the tacky side, once you put the two surfaces together do not try to separate them. You can do it but you'll make a mess and you'll have to restart over. Do not use too much of this as the glue itself in large quantities does not fill voids and cracks it's designed to hold things to flat surfaces if you can Scuff the services lightly beforehand and prep them with a solvent. That helps even more. Make sure you cap the tube immediately after using I wouldn't keep it in a hot garage, as it can dry out.

The 3M Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive really helped me fix a torn weatherstrip at the corner of my trunk. I was tired of dealing with leaks and drafts every time it rained. This is the stuff. I’ve got every kind of glue in my Arsenal, and this glue is a sure thing. The tube is a good size too. TIPS: the color may seep through if you apply too much on the project pieces. You just need a little (the nozzle can be a great applicator for larger jobs. It’s a nice small opening.) if you’re looking for something better than super glue, here it is! BUT CAUTION: if you have PRETTY NAILS, like me, wear gloves and use a toothpick or something between you and the glue. I have better luck squirting some out on a paper plate and using a disposable applicator to apply it. Sometimes it comes out as a clear AND a yellow part (separated) so just mix it up and go to it. Get ready to throw away your gloves or anything that makes contact. This is NOT your Elmer's glue! Haha. I’ve never had something I’ve glued come apart, so be sure before you seat what you’re gluing together—you’ll only have less than a minute to move things in place. You may have to hold it together for a minute for adhesion, but then it’s stuck permanently. One last thing: try to keep the nose of the tube wiped off, then be sure and twist the cap on all the way and on its threads. You’ll be glad you took a moment to do this the next time you use it— the cap will come off easily and it won’t be rock hard! (my tips come from 15 years of use :) Good luck!

I used it to glue some factor weather stripping back down around our drivers door on our van. The weather stripping had ripped through the plastic clips that originally held it onto the door and it was dangling and hanging outside the vehicle when we would close the door. It looked pretty pathetic. I pulled out the weather stripping and removed the plastic clips. The clips held for a bit, when I reattached the weatherstripping but always worked loose again in a few days or week as it would pull through the hold in the rubber gasket weather stripping. This time I pulled all the clips out of the door, applied a 1/4 inch wide strip of 3M adhesive where the weather stripping went. I did follow directions and let the product cure for about 5 minutes on the door before snapping the weather stripping against the door. I put the plastic clips back on the weather stripping to hold it in place long enough for the adhesive to dry, and gently closed the door. It definitely smelled like chemical fumes - don't do this indoors. I did this outdoors on a day with weather around 32F. I was concerned it wouldn't be warm enough for the adhesive to cure fast enough to hold, but its been a few weeks and its holding great. I don't know why the yellow color adhesive was about 60% the price of the black adhesive, but no one is going to see this where I applied it, so I got yellow simply because it was a lot cheaper than black.

I recently used the 3M Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive, and I'm thoroughly impressed. It held everything together perfectly. I was trying to stay focused, but this product made my task so much easier. A handy solution for various projects. Highly recommend it!

Worked perfectly to re-attach my daughter's Infiniti G35 interior panel faux leather. Not sure who is in charge of interior engineering at Nissan, but brother do their materials fail over time. Maybe it was the Georgia heat/humidity, but the perforated faux leather panel material was delaminating throughout her interior – so bad in one case that it essentially fell off. This stuff made me look like the fantastic dad that I am... I cut some of those flat bristle paint brushes into 2" x 3" sections, slightly rounded the corners, and used them to spread this sticky stuff. I squeezed it out in a Z pattern across the surface and quickly spread it out... you have to work quickly because it stops spreading easily within a few minutes. Because of this, I'd advise spreading no more than 2 square feet or so at a time. You can cover a larger area in sections – the open time allows for this (it's a contact-cement kind of thing). Coat both surfaces this way and then take your time with placement because when this takes hold it really takes hold. This comes in an aerosol spray as well, which I've used for other purposes. I wouldn't advise the aerosol for car interiors due to the mess... it has a very interesting spray pattern that purposefully shoots all over the place – think silly string. And reading the label of either product makes you think you'll have lung cancer just from picking up the can. Relax, and just keep the car doors open. It's not anything worse than other materials you've likely handled. Someone at Nissan really needs to discover this stuff...

delivery was great it arrived earlier than said. I did use it and it dried faster than I expected and worked well but I do have a couple of placed that I have to go back and do again. Any advice on how to get off in areas it should not be would be helpful. Thanks
