Middle Grades Science Book BASIC/Not Boring: Inventive Exercises to Sharpen Skills and Raise Achievement Paperback – May 1, 2002

This book is not what I expected. The title says it is not boring. First, you must have a very good knowledge of the subjects in this book. It is not for beginners. It was a worthless purchase for me. If you have a student who is very knowledgeable, or a genius in science, this book might be for you. They won't even give me a full refund, I have to pay$5.99 shipping, which would put me getting back less than half the cost I paid out. So I am stuck with this. I will have to pass it on to someone else.

This book is probably the best money I've spent on anything in my classroom. I teach 8th grade Science and this book has a lot of great and fun worksheets for my students. I use them as formative assessments to figure out where my students are on certain concepts. The only thing to be aware of is that students will need a good deal of prior knowledge in order to complete the assignemtns, so read questions carefully beforehand.

Good for that last minute homework assignment. Some assignments do not follow the curriculum and go off on to harder or easier concepts. It does cover almost every topic in middle school science. I wish it had less larger activities and more daily smaller ones.

I purchased the separate life and physical science editions years ago. This is a compilation of earth, physical, life and space science. This is a one stop shop!!!

I purchased this book as a study guide to prepare for the teacher's exam in middle grade science. It was very interesting and definitely not boring as it said. There were lots of different ways to learn the material and it would be a wonderful resource for any science teacher.
