Are the hinge pins plastic or metal? Does lid stand up straight when opened or fall all the way back?

The hinge pins are metal. As to the lid, my impression is that it doesn't fall all the way back, but stands. Though I haven't used one for a long time. Mine are used as display boxes and sealed and kept in the display cabin.

Is the case water tight?

I am not sure, I didn't try with water. I think everywhere else should be water tight, except the top lid part.
