I need something to keep the neighbor's chickens out of my yard. Do you think this would work?

Dont know about chickens but scares the bejesus out of squirrels

What works better , the hawk or the owl?

I have both - my dog was more convinced the hawk was real if that makes a difference, but hard to say if either really worked well. One thing I noticed is you have to move them around every day or so or wildlife seems to ignore them. The most effective decoy I found was a stuffed snake dog toy I coiled on top of my fence. That worked best at keeping the squirrels away since they had been running along the fenceline to get to the veggies.

Any chance this works on cats? My neighbor cat keeps digging in my flower beds to potty in. He’s digging up my caladiums! Also squirrels eat my bulbs.

It won’t work on cats. I have a family of cats and they just pass by the bird like nothing. It scares the squirrels though.

In general, hawks are not frightened of other predatory birds, and unfortunately, there isn't a great way to keep hawks away. Like many predators, they aren't skittish like squirrels and songbirds. However providing cover for the small birds to get under (a feeder with a roof or canopy, convenient low shrubs etc) will help protect them as most hawks hunt from above. Birds will scatter to cover when the hawk goes over, but generally return to the feeders quickly.
