No. You need to be careful while using this brush. You need to ensure that only the bristles of the brush touch your teeth. If the plastic part of your brush ( which is hard ) touches your teeth by mistake it can be pretty nasty as it oscillates at very high frequency. A child will not be able to handle it properly
