Question 1

how comfortable is this with an 8 inch mattress???

Accepted Answer

The mattress is very comfortable. The frame is not very sturdy. We had problems with it. We are now using the futon mattress on a bed in a guest room that is sparingly.

Question 2

What futon mattress do you pair with this? It it comfortable for everyday use?

Accepted Answer

Hi Grace2u, I paired this frame with the DHP 6 inch mattress (Bought both from the same company just to be safe because I wanted to make sure they would fit). I did some research and a lot of the reviews about the 8 inch mattress said that it was too thick to fold up easily into a couch, so I went with the 6 inch. If you're looking for the squishy tempurpedic mattress, the 6-inch won't match your needs, but if you like a relatively firm mattress, I would highly recommend this futon. In my honest opinion, the it is one of the most comfortable futons I've ever slept on and I would say that you could easily use this everyday! The only issue I had was the smell, but it wears off in a few days.As for the actual frame, I mostly just leave it in the couch position. For me, it is a little difficult to move between couch and futon position because of the stiffness. But otherwise, the frame does it's job! I think it also matters which futon you use it with. I am pretty happy with the combination that I bought!

Question 3

Is this a twin frame?

Accepted Answer

Read the description. It says full size frame.

Question 4

What size phiiips screwdriver do I need as I don't have power tools?

Accepted Answer

It would be a number 2 Phillips head screwdriver. I find it comical that people just say standard size LOL. There are a number of different sizes for a Phillips head.
