However, oily liquids and strong odors can create a mess inside your tackle box or bag. The Liqua-Bait Locker System provides three leak-proof containers that give you easy access without the traditional hassles associated with these baits. The LBL Wallet safely stores synthetic baits in a compact case that travels easily without creating a mess or adding bulkiness. Review: Great! - Great heavy duty protective rod case. Nice quality heavy plastic will protect and last a very long time. Looks like it will hold 8-10 rods Review: Perfect for fishing trip! - We just used it for a fishing trip. We were able to fit eight rods without the reels with no problem. TSA approved but it has to go through oversized baggage. It saved us the cost of renting rods and equipment during our trip. I highly recommend. ## Features - Three tier design - Smaller size - Polypropylene construction - Comfort moulded handle - Secure position locking device - 4.5 inches diameter - Collapses to 47 inches for easy transportation - Extends to 88 inches in length - Stores up to eight 7 foot rods ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B000E39U40 | | Best Sellers Rank | #23,725 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #14 in Fishing Rod Cases & Tubes | | Brand Name | Plano | | Closure Type | Locking Device | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,385 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00024099045889 | | Handle Type | Fixed handle | | Included Components | Fishing rod holder | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 88"L x 4.5"W x 88"H | | Item Type Name | Airliner Telescoping Rod Case | | Item Weight | 7.3 pounds | | Manufacturer | Pro-Motion Distributing - Direct | | Manufacturer Part Number | 458800 | | Material Type | Polypropylene (PP) | | Model Number | 458800 | | Number of Compartments | 3 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Pattern | Rod Case | | Size | One Size | | Style Name | Guide Series Airliner Telescoping | | UPC | 024099045889 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Material:** Polypropylene (PP) - **Color:** Black - **Brand:** Plano - **Mounting Type:** Rail Mount - **Product Dimensions:** 30"D x 8"W x 6"H ## Images ![Plano Rod Case - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41dVG9KV72L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Will this fit my cousins im-8 graphite 7' med hvy magnum casting rod is it to big. i need to travel by airplane recommend other products if needed** A: I am not familiar with a heavy magnum casting rod but per Amazon web site "Extends to 88 inch in length Collapses to 47 inch in length for easy storage Stores up to eight 7-foot rods Three-tier design 4.5” diameter Collapses to 47” for easy transportation Extends to 88” in length Stores up to eight 7-foot rods Three-tier design " **Q: Will this rod tube fit a Eagle Claw Featherlight 6'6 2 piece fly rod?** A: Measure your largest piece. This tube is 42 inches, and 3 ince diameter. What I can tell you is that I easily fit a 6'6" rod (along with a second 6' rod), and I can't imagine the eyes on a fly rod being large. Theoretically, you should have no problem (but measure to be sure). **Q: How many surf rods could you fit in this case? Considering the larger guides.** A: I can fit 6 english 2 piece 12ft rod in just fine they have 50mm guides **Q: Stores up to 8 7foot rods eh!How many rods will it store that are 2 piece rods?In two pieces!** A: Surf rods 2-3 casting rods 4-5 depend on size ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great! *by G***O on July 16, 2026* Great heavy duty protective rod case. Nice quality heavy plastic will protect and last a very long time. Looks like it will hold 8-10 rods ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for fishing trip! *by P***E on September 6, 2026* We just used it for a fishing trip. We were able to fit eight rods without the reels with no problem. TSA approved but it has to go through oversized baggage. It saved us the cost of renting rods and equipment during our trip. I highly recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ For the money....hard to beat imo *by T***N on July 21, 2014* Nice durable rob holder, truly does hold 8 rods with ease, and I do believe if they were all spinning rods it could hold 10 imo. Bought just before going on vacation week+ ago, put 4 casting rods measuring 6 to 7' and 4 spinning rods from 5'6" to 7' in case no problem. Started by extending middle section to one hole short of max extension for the two pieces and locking in. Then top piece inserted while it lies on floor with longest pole lying next to it in order to calibrate case length necessary. Put piece of tape just above hole necessary to stop at for correct length so as to not have the top piece press on rod tips if you push it down too far. If you just blindly attempt to adjust to correct length while rods are in the case you may break a tip imo as the ends have soft foam in them making it difficult to feel you're pushing down too far, or you may set length a bit too short pressuring rod tips. Ideally there should be a little play imo. I had zero issues, strapped to top of my SUV and all arrived safe and sound to and from our destinations. Not sure what the complainers are complaining about unless they didn't read or inserted their rods with no forethought in mind as to how to best do it. If I was planning on actually using it to send poles on a plane though I'd be doing some extra padding inside as it IS basically a hard plastic case with no side protection. Seems very durable though. Considering I was at Bass Pro Shops a few days before ordering and this thing was $89.99 plus tax I have no complaints at paying $50 shipped on Amazon. Only improvement I would suggest is they add some soft foam around the inside of the bottom and middle piece openings to put a little cushion to inside walls, but I can do some of that myself.Or even better install foam ring with channels that would keep rods separated a bit. It could be improved I guess, but I would buy again at this price with no qualms. ## Frequently Bought Together - Plano Rod Case - Reaction Tackle Braided Fishing Line - Pro Grade Power Performance for Saltwater or Freshwater Fish - Colored Fishing Line Braid for Extra Visibility - SF Fishing Rod Sock Fishing Rod Sleeve Rod Cover Braided Mesh Rod Protector Pole Gloves Fishing Tools for Spinning Fishing Rod,Casting Rod,Musky Rod, Ice Rod, Fly Rod, Spey Rod --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://cote.desertcart.com/products/3071077-plano-rod-case](https://cote.desertcart.com/products/3071077-plano-rod-case) --- *Product available on Desertcart Cote D' Ivoire* *Store origin: CI* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
