Orbiter Hard Floor Cleaner, Multi Purpose Floor Cleaning Machine

I've had my eye on this orbiter since I've been looking for way to effectively clean our tile floors. The grout had gotten to be this dark "grungy", almost black color (supposed to be a very light gray, almost white). Well, this machine not only accomplished the task, but the floor looks better than it did when we first moved in (wish I had taken before and after pictures). Next I decided to try it on some carpet. We have 5 cats and 2 dogs, in addition to being an 8 member household. The carpets that still remain (I've been replacing most of the carpet with laminate flooring). Anyhow, there was one section of carpet on a stair landing that was quite gross (mainly thanks to the cats). In the past 10 years we've lived here, I've tried spot cleaners, a Regina, a Bissel and a Rug Doctor (rental unit), which seemed to have made the carpet worse. After 2 applications (following the recommended instructions), the carpet looks almost new. I think 1 more application will get it there. On to the laminate floors. I used a red 3M buffer pad to clean and the cotton buffer pad to finish. Folks, you've got to get one of these machines, if you have laminate or wood floors. Absolutely beautiful results and in very little time or effort. No streaks either. If you purchase the orbiter, you'll also need to purchase "accessories", the orbiter comes with none. I started with the Complete Clean value kit, which included the tile floor cleaner (that did such a great job on our tile floor), laminate and carpet cleaner, plus carpet dry cleaner (which seems to continue cleaning days after the first application), a black carpet scrub brush, an orange hard flooring scrub brush and a cotton buffing pad. If it's important to you to maintain your floors, and you're looking for quick, easy and excellent results, then I highly recommend the Oreck Orbiter. So far it appears to be very ruggedly constructed, uses a heavy gauge power cord, is very quiet and easy to use. It glides over the floors (can handle with 1 hand) and operates just like a random orbit sander (matter of fact you can get sanding pads of different grits that can be used for that purpose). So far no one has beat Amazon's price. You'll get your money's worth with this machine, no doubt. 2024 Follow-up; I am still using this orbiter for my laminate, carpeted and tile floors. It's still going strong, and does a great job. I've been using the various pads (for the laminate & tile floors) and brushes (to clean the carpet & tile/grout floors).

I have about 1200 sq ft of brazilian walnut floors that are pretty dark with a satin finish. The floors are not hand scraped so they are flat and show dirt more than I ever imagined they would. The only way to get them extremely clean was to get on my hands and knees with a microfiber cloth and scrub them but more importantly buff them dry so that there would be no streaks. This was a lot of work and used to take well over an hour and destroy my back and knees. Now with the orbiter, I can clean the floors in about 20 minutes but the results are much better. I did find a site online to order 13" microfiber bonnets ($10 each) and they work much better than the terry cloth bonnets from oreck. The microfiber bonnets clean and then buff the floor dry very fast and I barely use any floor cleaner. I'm using about 1/4th the amount of cleaner I used to use when I did the floors by hand. Handling the orbiter is so easy, even my 2 year old can do it. I have been using the Bruce hardwood floor cleaner and it works very well with no residue or streaks. As far as using it for carpet cleaing it does work very well in some applications but for cleaning up fresh spills or dog vomit I use my rug doctor to do a wet extraction. As far as old existing stains and traffic, the oreck does very well but you may have to clean 2-3 times to get good results and since the chemicals are NOT cheap, it is expensive. Lowes does carry the same powder but a different brand for much less than oreck sells. I think I got twice the amount for half the cost. Overall, it's a very quality piece of equipment. Be very careful to make sure the switch is in the OFF position before plugging it in, so it doesn't spin out of control and break anything or hurt anyone. Overall, for hardware floors I give it a 10/10 and for carpets an 8/10.

I have stamped concrete interior floors throughout my house. They are a demon to clean since the grout lines are very deep. I have tried a bunch of things and nothing seems to clean down in the lines. Even my steam machine does not make much of a difference. Then I got the Oreck scrubber and it does an amazing job. It gets down in the grooves and cleans them out! It is very heavy but when it is on it is not hard to handle at all! I am 75 with bed bones but I can use it with no problems. The weight is an advantage since it keeps bearing down on the floor and keeps it from skipping. The machine doesn't "fight" you as you might expect. Highly recommend this machine!!

Light colored carpet + kids + dogs = need a carpet shampooer This one works great. It is not a big hassle to clean the carpet and it comes out very nice. We no longer wait to hire someone and fork out hundreds of dollars, we do it ourselves whenever we feel like it. The cleaner that's recommended for the Oreck Orbiter is 2 steps; after vacuuming, use the spray bottle on the carpet, then sprinkle the powder, then turn on the machine, then wait 30 minutes and vacuum. My 17 year old wanted to earn a little cash so she cleaned the carpet in 3 rooms, and did a great job. It's that easy! It also has a 2nd brush to use on hard floors, which we did use on our tile floor that rarely gets deep cleaned. (Ok, only once ever before the Oreck...on our hands and knees, not doing that again.)

This did a great job with the orange brush on my bathroom floor. It had a lot of hairspray and dirt stuck in the floor and it looks so clean and new looking. I am a custodian at a school district and I scrub and wax many floors. I am very pleased with this machine for my home use. *Update… still really like my floor machine it’s a great size for home use. I have a kitchen floor that was pretty grimy with grease and dirt down in the little crevices of the floor. This machine got it pretty clean and looking new using the Orange brush. Take a mop bucket lay down some cleaner on the floor with your mop a nice amount, and scrub. Don’t wring your mop out just put it in the bucket and then let the cleaner drip from the mop onto and all over the floor as many times as you need to in a nice size section and then scrub back and fourth in consistent lines/rows on your wet section of floor. The more wetness you lay down the better scrubbers clean. It will splash some dirty liquid on things when scrubbing but that can be wiped off things like cabinets. After you scrub your section suck up the dirty liquid with a wet dry shop vac. You don’t want to leave it to dry or you’re going to have to mop it many times with water to get it all off the floor. After you’ve scrubbed your whole floor mop the floor with water to pick up any residue left after vacuuming. Like I said my first review I scrub tile floors every summer for my job with a more powerful machine and this one works great for home use.

I just tried out my new orbiter multipurpose cleaner, and I am very impressed! It is quiet (much quieter than my vacuum), easy to maneuver and works great. I have only used it on my carpet so far, but I have gotten better results than I had ever hoped for! My daughters carpet has been badly stained for many years... courtesy of spilled food, juices, Gatorade, paints and more. It was full of bold/bright colors/stains that looked disgusting. I used the oreck spray and carpet powder. I concentrated the scrubbing on the hardest hit areas and repeated the process multiple times over each stain. Some many years old stains completely disappeared. The rest of the stains are significantly faded. Before I tried the Oreck, I thought I would need to trash the carpet, but now it looks much better! In all, I spent only a few minutes on my stairs and oldest sons room for them to look clean. I spent probably an hour on my daughters room, to get rid of those horrible stains. I am now done buying and replacing water based carpet cleaning machines every few years, as they didn't remove the stains as the occurred. You do need to vacuum before and after Oreck use for the best clean, but it is well worth the cost and effort!

The floor machine arrived without any attachments for cleaning and polishing. So I basically cannot use the machine until a week from now after ordering attachments which cost me over $60. One would think that Oreck would provide a starter pad and polisher after spending almost $400 for the machine.

I have a huge expanse of tile flooring. Hand scrubbing—even using a stiff tile brush on an extension pole—is labor intensive, time consuming, and physically fatiguing. The Oreck made quick work of what is otherwise a 2-3 day project. I pre-treated the tile and grout with an enzyme product and then went over the entire floor with the Oreck and the tile/grout scrubbing attachment. I was amazed at what an incredible job it did. After using the Oreck, I went over my floors again with my steam mop, changing the pad frequently, to lift away the dirt. My tile and grout looked much cleaner than regular steam mopping ever did. I plan on using the Oreck every couple of months for maintenance. It’s an excellent machine.

Scrubs well and gets grout clean. I used natural bristle.

I am satisfied with my purchase, I bought it to clean my patio and garage floor, it works well and I have no isuues, thank you, Marie :)

Used this orbiter to apply Osmo Polyx hardwax oil to 900sqft Birch hardwood floor. This orbiter worked great for cleaning and application of hardwax oil on my hardwood floor. It looks great and was 4x quicker than by hand or brush. Had an existing coat of hardwax oil and cleaned the floor using Osmo Cleaner and this pad: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B005AX1Y2K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Applied two coats of Osmo Polyx-oil to floor using this pad: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B005AX2PKA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I did not use this to sand the floor. I sanded original polyurethane off floor with industrial grade random orbital sander (did not use the Oreck orbiter for sanding) and applied hardwax oil by hand originally. I decided to buy orbiter for the next application and it was worth it.

Polishing a floor. Works great!
