I will be using it to raise and lower the boat dock. Does it have the motion for clockwise and anti clockwise?

Both clockwise and counter clockwise, yes! I used a drum switch controller on each of the two motors for my boat lift.

How do I connect a switch to get the lift up and down?

I used a separate drum controller for each of which there are many available. The connections can be a bit challenging and may take an electrician if you're not qualified.

It's not just about horsepower, must ensure that the installation size, performance, output voltage, etc. and your machine is appropriate, otherwise it can not start working

What is the mounting size of the motor bolt hole?

The size of the motor bolt hole is 3/8-16

Good

This motor we needed for our sander and it worked very well. My husband did have a hard time installing it, but I think it was because of where he was installing it but it works great.

Price is right.

Bought two to replace on my boat lift. These are dual voltage and reversible which is an absolute must for this application.
