New World Standard Edition (base game) - PC [Online Game Code]

The first day was painful. Server queue wait times pushed 3-4 hours in my area to get in. Amazon has added new servers for US East Coast and now (for me) I queue up and get right in. 0 issues with stability.Amazon's MMO is fun. As soon as you are out of the tutorial, you can buddy up with friends and go harvesting/running missions. It took a bit of aligning, but I was able to run the same missions with friends for several hours yesterday (day 2 of launch).Combat is a bit more involved than other MMOs. There is no auto-target or auto-hit function. Some skill and thought are required. I for one enjoy that aspect. Wielding a magic weapon, bow, or musket requires aiming. It does get easier to use over time. Dodging and blocking also require practice but also get easier as you understand the enemy's movements. There is a decent amount of weaponry to choose from though I do hope Amazon adds new weapons in the future.Skill progression for weapons is interesting. Fleshing out that Hatchet or Hammer to deal higher damage is nice. Skill progression for professions and harvesting can be a bit boring. At lower levels especially it can be hard to locate Iron/plants/etc. Once you hit a certain level in the skill however, you begin to track certain points of interest and it gets easier.I have both played in a group and alone. The game is fun! Exploring the world is enjoyable. It is graphically beautiful. While there are no mounts, you can fast travel. Having no mounts can be a bit frustrating when you are traversing into a different area and back for quest purposes, but the recall to Inn function does help even though it has a 1 hour cool down. I don't think mounts are necessarily needed at this time.It's a fun game and worth the money.

My husband and I are long-time MMORPG fanatics. I started with UO back in 1998 and he started with WoW. We've each played many MMORPG's and between us we've probably played most of them. We decided to give New World a try despite it being buy-to-play with no free trial which is generally the first red flag for a game. It says "we want your money and we don't care if you like the game". After playing for a month, it's pretty clear that is precisely the case.1) Nearly every aspect of New World is copied from another, better game and none of it is done as well as those other games. Housing is BDO style but the scoring system doesn't work, many of the furnishings are glitchy and won't place against walls, and don't even get me started on how furnishings are acquired/made. Weapon/Skill building feels like a low-grade version of Secret World with UO style stats assignments, gearing also feels quite UO-centric with random stat drops which utterly nullify the WoW style gear colors that are also in use just to make things super confusing. Gathering and crafting is a dead ringer for GW2 minus the super handy separate storage for crafting materials but you do get separate "bank" style storage in each town like, again, in BDO and additional slot bags as you level like GW2. Leveling hails similar to FF14, the 3 factions are basically Secret World's factions with different names and colors, the faction/pvp/town control system feels similar to what AoC has said they'll be doing but half-cracked as if Amazon Gaming just really wanted to try to slap something together quickly and release it before AoC came out.2) Character creation is one of the worst I've seen. The faces for both genders ALL look swollen and lumpy like they've just stepped out of a Mike Tyson fight. Options are incredibly limited and the graphics - in fact all of the game's graphics - are shockingly potato. This game has some of the highest system requirements of any game currently on the market and yet the graphics don't hold up to some of the oldest games still going strong and even with a brand new top-shelf gaming PC and HSI this game is still filled with lag and rubber banding issues even in totally out-of-the-way isolated locations where we were the only players in sight.3) No mounts. At all. In fact, all movement for this game is done to hide the fact that for an "open world" MMORPG the map is freaking tiny. You can't jump. Minor hops are all you get and I mean MINOR. I've seen 3 year old children with better verticals. You cannot swim. You CAN go in water but you simply walk in and continue walking perfectly upright along the bottom like a bad interpretation of a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean. Movement (which is already painfully slow) is drastically slower in water, you can't jump at all in water, there is no sprinting, and breath is limited so try not to drown while moving from one island to the other which is frequently required for questing and you'd better also hope you don't get attacked because you can't fight in water either.3) Combat is reticle which I ordinarily hate but I've seen it done decently. I get that the extreme lack of combat choreography is probably intended to appeal to a sense of realism (I mean who really does a back-flipping tripple sowcow while shooting a gun *yes I'm looking at you FF14*) but it makes the combat insanely boring. This is literally the only game where I've ever actually fallen asleep WHILE fighting something. Skills and skill trees are based on your weapon and vaguely related to the roles of tank/dps/healer but only vaguely as you can be fully tanked to the max but without the right top-level gems in your weapons you won't hold threat from a healer who is 10 levels below you with no gems at all no matter how hard you try.4) Every aspect of this game screams a complete lack of originality not only in the ways it copies other games but also in the blatant and unabashed way that it copies itself. The mobs you are fighting at level 1 are identical to the mobs you will be fighting at level 60 which is currently the max (despite crafting/gathering jobs going up to 200 each). The first town you visit will have all the same building styles, housing layouts, and graphical aspects of the second town you visit and that will be 90% identical to the third town which is also 90% identical to the fifth town. Leveling up and getting sent to a new area by the main story quest will not be the exciting refreshing experience you're used to in other games because you will arrive and realize it is quite literally SSDD. The same mobs, the same animals, the same buildings, the same cities, the same quests, over and over and over and over again across the board. Nothing. Changes. Ever.5) Finally the crafting system. I've saved it for last because - in all honesty - it's the thing that finally made me say enough is enough with this game and go back to FF14 and GW2 where I will continue to wait for another new game to play. I'm going to use what most games would just call "blacksmithy" to explain but in this game know that the collective tasks of a "blacksmith" have been separated out to armor smithing, weapon smithing and smelting and the processed described apply to ALL of the jobs with a variation on the specific ingredients but pretty much ALL crafts regardless of job require the holy trinity of wood/metal/leather in some form. From 0-50 you will need an obscene amount of iron ore to make iron ingots which you can then use to craft iron objects. From 50-100 you will need an obscene amount of iron ore to make iron ingots which you can then use to make steel ingots which you can then use to craft steel objects. From 100-150 you will need an obscene amount of iron ore to make iron ingots which you can then use to make steel ingots which you can then use to make starmetal ingots which you can then use to craft starmetal objects. See where I'm going with this? And it's not a low number either. On average to get from 100-150 you'll need to make about 120 objects. Each object can require as many as 22 of the primary ingredient to craft. 2,640 of that primary ingredient will require 4 secondary ingredients each. 10,560 secondary ingredients will require 4 trimary ingredients each. 42,240 trimary ingredients will require 4 base materials each. So to get from 100-150 be prepared to gather 168,960 base materials plus additional primary ingredients from the trinity and high-level base materials, and open a bunch of chests to get the correct reagents and remember that's JUST 100-150. That's not 0-150 and it's certainly not anything to 200 which is max. For that you'll need a whole lot more of everything. Now - for those of you like me that are die-hard crafter/gatherer types thinking 'no problem, it just requires patience and perseverance, think again. ALL base resources in the game with the exception of wood and stone are finite meaning if a character named "asgkhkjh" is running through a line of iron nodes hitting them before you get to them - you're out of luck until they respawn. Unless - of course - "asgkhkjh" beats you to them again which they probably will because - as I'm sure you've realized by now, "asgkhkjh" and a billion other characters with similar obviously randomly generated names are all bots. The game is CRAWLING with them. They literally move in herds. You can stand in any major resource spot in the game and watch 10-15 bots mow across the land before you gobbling up all resources in their path from trees to ore to vegetation and animals and everything in between. They're not subtle and that should tell you one very important thing - Amazon. Does. Not. Care. Back to the red flag I mentioned earlier about buy-to-play games. Once they sell you the game - they Do. Not. Care. about your experience in the game nor do they care if you're a real player or a bot farmer. They don't need to keep you happy so you'll keep your subscription active because there is no subscription. They don't need for you to enjoy the game enough to buy it because there is no free trial so if you're playing it you've already bought it. There is no refund. They got your money and if you realize it's a giant piece of flaming plagiarism trash with dumpster fire graphics and a system that actually encourages community toxicity - THEY DO NOT CARE.Don't waste your money. I have nothing but regrets when it comes to this game.

It's just painfully average as a game. It doesn't do anything seriously different than other MMOs that came before it. It just takes the decent parts of other games and mashed them into this one.Combat is just okay. The different weapons are cool, but the complete lack of serious skill customization is a huge drag.It takes the Albion Online approche for it's economy. Everything is made by players and sold on the Auction House. You get everything from gathering it or buying it from other players.It doesn't do anything different than Albion Online in that respect.It's just meh.

Let’s be honest. This game got a lot of crap over login issues within the first week… it’s amazon’s first big game. It’s not going to be perfect. Look at Blizzard for example. We’ve had WoW for almost 20 years and they still manage to screw up launch days with expansions and patches. It’s not unheard of. People are being way too critical here. I’m only an hour into the game, and I like the game so far. Combat is different from most, so that’s a learning curve. Someone in these reviews was mad about the targeting in this game. They must be used to WoW where everything automatically hits your target, no matter the direction or angle you are. That’s not the case here. It’s a nice change from what we’ve had. Final Fantasy has died off. Guild Wars has died off. WoW is dying off. This is something new and different, and it’s still the highest viewed MMORPG on Twitch, even a month after launch. Don’t listen to the complainers in here. Give it a run for yourself and develop your own opinion of it. I like that it’s a one time purchase with NO monthly subscription. Blizzard should have done that years ago. Remember people… This is Amazon’s first attempt at an MMORPG. Stop being critical.

Amazing game! I was skeptical when amazon was coming out with there own brand of games, but I was very wrong. New World is a great game you can easily get lost in playing. Although the grind cant be a bit tedious, it is easily changeable to grinding something else while changing up the gameplay environment, keeping this game fresh.

Acquistato dopo aver visto il boom di video e presentazioni online, mi sono convinto e devo dire che sono rimasto piacevolmente soddisfatto.A parte le lamentele dei primi giorni di quelli che sceglievano gli stessi server e si ritrovavano a fare code di giorni, ora il problema è stato completamente risolto e quindi si riesce a giocare senza problemi.Esistono sicuramente ancora molti bug che vanno risolti ma questo è successo da sempre con ogni tipo di gioco e per questa portata mi sembra normale, comunque niente di eclatante.L'altro giorno addirittura mi sono stati restituiti 2000 monete per un errore sull'acquisto della casa e quindi diciamo che la correzione dei bug funziona egregiamente.Nel complesso il gioco risulta molto ricco di dettagli, rami di potenziamento per personaggio e per le armi, nonché tutti i banchi con le abilità da sbloccare, tantissime missioni e storia molto curata.Consigliato.

It feels like Guild Wars 2, kind of a mix of Magical and Medieval with a Spanish Inquisition feel with Weapons / Armours. rather enjoying it so far, 26 hours in. not in any rush or anything being only level 22.(No Images or Video Attached to the review, check out twitch streamers to see what it's like or the steam page)# level Cap is 60. but room for expansions to increase (Zones on the Map are laid out in level blocks 1-25, 26-35 etc.)# You can use any armour or weapon or do all gathering/refining and creation professions. there is no class-specific job... respec your Stats up to level 20 for free (if you are unhappy with your current playstyle) then a small cost after level 20.# Weapons all level up individually by the time you use them, and those unlock skills & Passive Buffs by your choice from the points given. to make a unique style of combat for you alone.# Choose between 3 factions waging war against each other on the world map for territory control. with a toggle on/off Open World PVP, 50 vs 50 Castle Sieges. with plenty of PVE Options (Open World Events / Raids) are available. Player Housing in many styles...# Inventory can be increased by crafting or buying from the Auction House "Satchels"# Personal Storage can be increased by the Standing of the Cities owned by that Faction. (the Personal storage is per Town/City but other storage can be accessed for a fee if your faction controls those towns)There is always something to do!- I'm Looking forward to the Expansion or DLC, which will come sooner or later. Mit New World hat Amazon ein waschechtes State of The Art MMO auf den Markt gebracht, das es absolut in sich hat und das sich auch hinter den ganz grossen Playern wie WoW, ESO, HDRO ect. nicht verstecken muss.Ich selbst hatte das Vergnügen in den beiden Betas als Vorbesteller rund 60 Spielstunden zu verbringen, konnte mir so einen sehr guten Eindruck machen was einen hier erwartet und war mehr als begeistert was hier auf die Beine gestellt wurde. Im Spiel seit Release hab ich bisher etwa 12 Stunden verbracht.📌 Steam als PlattformWas ich schon mal sehr genial finde ist das Amazon sich dazu entschlossen hat das Spiel ausschliesslich auf der Steam Plattform zu veröffentlichen. Steam ist einfach die ausgereifteste Plattform in jeder Hinsicht, in sofern ist es in meinen Augen die richtige Entscheidung ein so aufwendiges Spiel wie New World auch hier zu releasen und sich Steam als Partner zu suchen.Wer New World daher kauft erhällt nach dem Kauf einen Steam Key von Amazon, den er dann auf Steam aktivieren kann.Der Preis mit 40€ für die Standard Version bzw. 50€ für die Deluxe Version ist zudem eine echte Kampfansage für das was hier geboten wird. Soviel MMO hab ich bisher noch in keinem anderen MMO zum Release bekommen zumal man auch keine monatlichen Kosten wie bei WoW anschliessend hat.Nachfolgend die Eindrücke und Features zu New World die mich besonders begeistert haben, ohne dabei in unendliche Schwallerei zu kommen oder zu sehr zu spoilern.📌 Grafik/ Interface• Grosse und abwechslungsreiche Spielwelt mit verschiedenen Biomen die teilweise absolut atemberaubend aussehen.• Stimmung und Setting sind einfach der Hammer.• Die Grafik ist absolut State of the Art für ein Spiel aus dem Jahr 2021• Läuft auf meinem Ryzen 3700X,1080TI und 16GB Ram auf einem 49" Ultrawide Monitor mit 3840x1080 in den höchsten Auflösungen absolut ruckelfrei.• 21:9 und 32:9 Support sind selbstverständlich vorhanden.• Unfassbar gutes Interface das extrem aufgeräumt und übersichtlich aussieht📌 HandwerkssystemMit eines der besten Handwerkssysteme überhaupt das unfassbar viel Spass macht und besonders im Endgame aufgrund der Spezialisierung nachher von grosser Bedeutung ist. Man kann auch alle Berufe erlernen und ist nicht wie in WoW nur auf 2 Hauptberufe und 2 Nebenberufe beschränkt. Je nachdem welches Handwerk man ausführt bekommt man hier seine XP. Im Grunde läuft es so ab das man mit seinem Charakter jede Waffengattung nutzen kann. Trotzdem sollte man darauf achten zusammenhängende Waffengattungen zu nutzen, um durch das Verteilen der begrenzten Attributpunkte am Ende das Optimum aus seinem Char heraus zu holen.Trägt und kämpft man zb. mit einem Schwert und Schild bekommt man hier seine Erfahrungspunkte und kann nach einem Stufenaufstieg auch dann im Talentbaum unter dem Reiter "Schwert/Schild" seine Punkte auf die Talente verteilen. Selbiges gilt für Hammerwaffen, Äxte, Bögen, Magiewaffen usw.• Einhandwaffen• Zweihandwaffen• Fernkampwaffen• Gerades Schwert / Schild• Wurfäxte• Äxte• Kriegshammer• Feuerstab• Lebensstab (Heiler)📌 Kampfsystem...Spass purDas Kampfsystem macht richtig Spass und ist komplett dynamisch inkl. zielen, blocken, ausweichen usw. ausgelegt. Das macht enorm Laune und geht durch die leichte Zugänglichkeit sehr gut von der Hand.📌 PvE / PvPNew World versucht es PvE und PvP Spielern gleichermassen gerecht zu machen und das ist den Entwicklern meines erachtens auch gut sehr gelungen. Daher wer kein PvP machen will lässt es einfach aus und hat seine Ruhe, Fertig.Ich selber bin eigentlich der typische PvE Spieler der mit PvP weniger am Hut hat. Trotzdem hat New World auch für PvP Spieler einiges zu bieten die ich hier kurz aufführen möchte.• Open World PvP zwischen verfeindeten Fraktionen ist immer möglich. Dazu muss man sich zuvor selber "flaggen" sprich PvP aktivieren. Möglich ist das aber nur in Dörfern und Städten und beim annehmen von PvP Quest. Zudem muss man einer Fraktion angehören und kann nur Spieler der anderen Fraktion angreifen.• Instanzierte 20 vs 20 oder 50 vs 50 Schlachten (LVL Stufen werden angeglichen)• Beim Questen als PvE Spielern sind mir ständig Scharmützel zwischen PvP Spielern aufgefallen, meistens Gruppen gegen Gruppen. Das fand ich ziemlich interessant anzusehen und zeigt das gerade im Open World PvP einiges los ist.📌 Weitere Features• Alle Waffen und Rüstungen haben das bewährte Farbsystem was die Qualität der Items Kennzeichnet. Daher grau, weiss, grün, blau, lila, Orange...so wie man es auch aus WoW und vielen anderen MMOs her kennt. WoW oder Diablo Spieler werden sich hier gleich Zuhause fühlen.• Schönes Housing mit umfangreichen Möglichkeiten sein Eigenheim individuell zu gestalten. Das was WoW seit Ewigkeiten verpennt und nie richtig umgesetzt hat wurde hier sehr schön umgesetzt.• Gilden können sogar ganze Städte kaufen, was dazu anspornt das jeder seinen Beitrag leistet um an das erforderliche Geld / Taler als Gilde zu kommen.• Ausgereiftes, fraktionsübergreifendes InGame Auktionshaus / Handelsposten• Durch das sehr umfangreiche Questsystem und die vielen Projekte einer Stadt die es zu meistern gilt hat man immer etwas zu tun, so das es nie langweilig wird.• Invasionen von Festungen• Fraktionskrieg zwischen 3 Fraktionen• "Offene" Dungeons mit Elite Gegnern in der Spielwelt wo jeder Spieler sich spontan in den Kampf mit einbinden kann• Später dann instanzierte Dungeons für 3-5 Spieler (derzeit 6 Stück)• Spannende Lore mit interessantem Geschichtsstrang• Ingame Voice Chat📌 TwitchGeniale Twitch Einbindung mit vielen Möglichkeiten für Streamer mit den Zuschauerin zu interagieren und diese sogar ins Spiel einzubinden. Ist aber auch nicht verwunderlich, da Twitch ja zu Amazon gehört und Amazon hier aus den vollen schöpft um Twitch als Streamer Plattform weiter voran zu bringen.👎 Ein paar erste Kritikpunkte 👎📌 WarteschlangensimulatorGleich vorweg, das Warteschlangenfiasko werde ich nicht in meine Bewertung einfliessen lassen, den Amazon arbeitet daran und wird das Zeitnah in den Griff kriegen. Und von Aussagen wie "Wenn Amazon das Problem behebt werde ich auch meine Bewertung anpassen" halte ich nicht viel. Trotzdem darf es natürlich nicht unerwähnt bleiben, da es für viele Spieler derzeit doch sehr ärgerlich ist wenn sie spielen wollen und es nicht können.New World hat mittlerweile den Spitznamen "Warteschlangensimulator" weil einige Spieler wegen viel zu knapper Bevölkerungskapazitäten pro Server tatsächlich mehrere Stunden in der Warteschlange hängen mussten. Das betrifft unter anderem auch besonders die Server wo sich viele bekannte Twitch Streamer niedergelassen haben und wo die Warteschlangen dort besonders hoch sind.Den Streamern kann man aber hier aber absolut keinen Vorwurf machen, schliesslich hat Amazon ja ihr hauseigenes Twitch als Streaming Plattform fest in das Spiel integriert, legt grossen Wert darauf das die Streamer ihre Community mitnehmen. Und die Zuschauer selbst möchten natürlich irgendwo dann auch ein Teil ihres Lieblingsstreamers sein.Den Schuh muss sich Amazon hier daher komplett alleine anziehen, weil man den enormen Spielerandrang komplett unterschätzt hat und man hier nicht gewusst hat wie MMO Spieler ticken. Verwunderlich ist das auch umso mehr, denn schliesslich hätte Amazon anhand der Vorbestellungen schon sehr leicht erahnen können was hier auf sie zurollt und das alles besser planen können.Einfache Rechnung: Wenn sich das Spiel alleine schon durch die Vorbesteller in Deutschland, Österreich und Schweiz 100.000x verkauft hat (waren vermutlich um einiges mehr) und ich aber zum Release nur 5 deutschsprachige Server einplane kann man sich bei einer Serverkapazität von nur 2000 Spielern pro Server schnell ausrechnen das sowas komplett in die Hose gehen muss.Ein Tip von mir: Schaut das ihr zumindest nicht auf einem Server spielt der derzeit noch von sehr grossen und bekannten Twitch-Streamern bevölkert wird, wenn ihr nicht unbedingt Teil seiner Community sein müsst. Wo die grossen Twitch Streamer sich niedergelassen haben kann man sehr leich durch " new world deutsche server streamer" ergoogeln.Was mir positiv in den ersten Stunden aber aufgefallen ist das Amazon mehrere neue Server hinzugefügt hat um neue Spielerlasten besser verteilen zu können. Stand 01.10.2021 sind sogar bereits 52 deutsche Server am Start (zum Release waren es nur 5!) wovon einige aber immer noch relativ hohe Warteschlangen mit bis zu 2000 wartenden Spielern zur Prime-Time aufweisen.📌 Nur 2 Charaktere auf allen EU Server möglichDerzeit nur 2 Charaktere auf allen EU Servern möglich. Das ist bei den möglichen Builds (Tank, Heiler, Nahkampf DD / Fernkampf DD) vieeeeel zu wenig und ich denke das die Anzahl Zeitnah hier noch auf mindestens 4 Chars erhöht wird.📈 Fazit 📈Keine Frage, Amazon hat mit New World das Rad nicht neu erfunden. Das meiste gab es irgendwo schon mal in anderen MMOs. Aber trotzdem wurde hier alles richtig gemacht und man hat viele gute Systeme und Mechaniken, die sich in anderen MMOs bereits als erfolgreich bewährt haben, übernommen und in ein eigenes MMO gepackt.Wo Licht ist ist auch Schatten und ich könnte jetzt auflisten was mir hier und da noch nicht gefallen hat was durchaus vereinzelnd der Fall war...ein paar Punkte hab ich ja schon erwähnt. Aber letztendlich war bisher noch kein MMO zum Release 100% perfekt und so ein umfangreiches Spiel wie New World baut sich mit der Zeit auf und braucht etwas Geduld bis es reift. Zudem wird ständig nach gepatcht, verbessert und mit neuen Features und Inhalten bereichert.Was Amazon letztendlich aber hier aber auf die Beine gestellt hat ist schon extra klasse und ganz grosses Kino und ich freue mich auf die kommenden Wochen und Monate, wo mich New World hoffentlich lange in seinen Bann ziehen wird.Von mir eine uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung für alle die schon länger nicht mehr wissen was sie spielen wollen. Wer generell viel Spass an MMOs, MORPGs in einer offenen Open World Spielwelt hat wird um New World nicht herum kommen und hier unter Garantie seinen Spass haben.
