How is this installed?

Yes, spring 2020, I’m 79 yrs old. I did it myself. Dug a thin trench. I cut to length I needed for my border, cut with scissors and pushed down into the trench. Used the stakes and pounded them in at intervals. We can mow over it and it keeps grass out of my flower beds. Easy to work with.

How many stakes do you need for a 40 ft roll?

That depends on how you run it. I would think on stake every 4 feet would work for most applications I can think of. That would be 1o per roll...

Can u put this under my fence to stop weeds and grass?

This is an edging for flower beds or other areas that you want to delineate as separate space. If you put this under your fence, the weeds will grow anyway but the edging may block the view if you completely cover the open space between your fence and the ground.
