I am planning on studying midwifery after nursing school, and this textbook has proven to be comprehensive, interesting, thought-provoking and very well written. The information and wisdom contained herein is clearly based on evidence and decades of experience in tending women and their loved ones.

A favorite!
So far, one of my favorite books in studying midwifery. Truly holistic approach. I have been reading Varney's (horribly boring and poorly written) and Miles and Mayes (both British and very well written, easy reading). Looking forward to reading more of Holistic Midwifery volume 1 & 2.

Most valuable set of books
The textbooks by anne frye are the books I ALWAYS go to and reference. They are amazingly details and fun to read, but I'm also pretty interested in the technical stuff. Volume 1 gives lots o details on nutrition for optimal pregnancy and the second is great- you can't find this information online! :)Worth ALLLLL the money.

Great textbook for midwives and students!!
Great book!! Tons of information and it goes into great depth and explanation on everything. Easy to understand. This is a MUST HAVE for all midwives and students. Finally something written by a midwife for a midwife.

Absolutely amazing. Such great information compiled in a perfect way. Anne Frye is a phenomenal teacher! Definitely recommend for not only midwives and assistants, but doulas and educators who want to learn more!

This book is soooo interesting :))
This book has pieces of wisdom and anatomy facts from years of experience. -This book is accepted by midwifery schools. -It has information from years of experience. -It has a lot more info than you would think. -A lot of the info is abbreviated though. Overall this is a good book to learn from.
