Best Transplant Shovel Ever
Best transplant shovel I’ve ever used. I originally bought it to remove running bamboo, and it is ok at sawing through rhizomes, but where it really shines is transplanting or invasive removal. I’ve planted over 200 trees with this shovel now, and it’s still sturdy and strong. I’ve sharpened the teeth once with a flat file, but other than that no maintenance. It is the perfect tool for digging up rootballs, and can remove invasive Himalayan blackberry with only 3-4 steps. The widened flange and step are excellent for delivering a lot of force to the roots, and it’s light enough to carry easily on long trails. I got the XL version as I’m taller and it’s the perfect height, although someone shorter <170cm might want a smaller size. It has good grip alongside my hori-hori is one of my most used gardening tools. Highly recommend. I’ve even had professional excavators inquire about the shovel after seeing it and ask where I got it.

The perfect shovel!!
This shovel is an investment in my collection of the best garden tool. Radius is my new favorite brand. The design is perfect. I have given this shovel as gifts twice. Very sturdy & easy to use. Not too heavy, weight is just right. Love the teeth which cut right through the soil. Brilliant design in every way. Easy to grip and control the handle. Everyone need this shovel in your garden.

How have I not had a handle like this all my life??!
This thing does it all. It digs as a functional shovel, even better in some ways! For instance, when transplanting : Although narrow (Not thin, just narrower than the top. Like the duckbill shovel/ravine shovel width but more multifunctional!)at the tip once you insert the shovel into the ground you can do this fantastical* thing where pull the shovel right to left In a outline of the size circle you’d like , then forward and back. Due to the * super* Sharp serrated blades on each side of that narrow end the shovel slices through any dirt, sticks, roots, etc. in your way. This part is like the recon for your location, seeing if it’s ideal for what you want to put into the hole your digging. If the answer is yes then keep It up. Switch sides to connect the “outline” of the circle if it was a large one or literally just walk around slicing as you go, the ergonomic magnificent handle does so much of the work, it’s a travesty I’ve put myself through years of gardening without a handle like this. Let’s put it this way, I was able to work at least twice as long in the FL heat without lower back issues (you can great posture the whole time but a few hours of digging is still going to wear on you- I do not have great posture so this is even better for those of you who do). You move the handle back & forth and mind you this is for root infested location that you’re set upon. Just digging a quick hole, if you have a lot of dirt to shovel out, keep your other shovel nearby or just use that one. Work smarter, not harder. When you come across a nasty big ol’ root the tip of this shovel is also super sharp and can be used like a vertical axe? I just lift it into the air and bring it down on what I want to chop in half. You don’t need a lot of strength for this, the shovel does the work, I just find it satisfying that my aim is good and I love seeing the shovel at work. (*wear EYE PROTECTION* & Sunscreen 😬😍) I’ve even used this to chop super tall invasive grasses in the same manner after bending the blades over and slicing the blades at the base so I can dig up their annoying roots and slay them. Propagation: this has helped swiftly and efficiently some of my plants for propagation, the narrow blade let’s me identify which plant I want and I can go into the ground and make a clean cut without having to uproot an entire plant or damage more roots (like Bird of Paradise, Crotons, Alocasia, Thai giant, etc. ) You won’t regret it.

Propigating Plants- You Need This Tool.
This is just what I needed. It was bought in March. But because of weather conditions and my intentions for it's use I wasn't able to use it right away. It was well packaged. Thought went into protecting the serrated edges with a thick protective I'm calling it a guard. The Root Slayer does have weight to it. I appreciated that those sharp sides were packaged like that. Users unpacking it safely. Storage after use is just as important. Those guards are placed back on the Root Slayer. This is one of those tools you have that shouldn't be loaned out to anybody. You'll never see it again. It's that good. It's intended purpose was to help me propagate Purple Fountain Grass. I tied to do it with several different shovels. Nothing worked to my satisfaction. Wasted my time going that route. I practiced using this tool in my back yard. I needed a tool that could be sturdy enough to dig out tall over grown, fake spring weeds. This Root Slayer is very durable. Because of the weeds popping up along a hard to work, already established planted area. I also had a Gopher problem. Everything was running along a fence line. Awkward. Those weeds are gone.! Gophers too! amazed at how deep the roots/ Tunnel system of them actually went. It was versatile to break down the tunnels. Without disturbing established plants. The handle length and it's size was absolutely perfect. Not too tall. Not too short. The weight of it was just right. As far as it's original purpose for purchase. I'm confident I'll have no problem propagating. Maintaining . Sizing down any of my Ornamental Grasses. I'll be purchasing it's Little Buddy companion as well. Garden Trowel. I see versatility in that tool too.

Very impressed
This shovel is the greatest! I needed to remove roots by my septic tank and was having a very hard time, with a regular shovel. I was kind of skeptical about this product. WOW! This shovel works great! I was able to cut through most roots with just one shot. This was so easy and very sturdy.

Heavy duty shovel! Buy one now, it will change the way you garden :)
The Root Slayer Garden Shovel is amazing. We struggled so many times trying to plant in our landscape but there were so many roots it made it very difficult. This is definitely the shovel that gets it done! It's very sturdy and extremely sharp blade. The round grip is user friendly as well. Wish we'd know about it sooner. Well worth the price. I've been telling all of my gardener friends to buy one!

Solid
Other than it having a weak point and bending on its first usage, is pretty darn strong. And good at what it’s advertised to do. Sure makes life easier. I have a few, I would buy this again, but be a little more careful. I like the weight and how it helps pierce through soil and roots.

Sturdy garden shovel
Great shovel! Cuts through deep roots, heavy soil much better than a "regular" garden shovel. It's a bit heavy but that also helps it cut through the soil/roots. Love it.

fantastiskt verktyg

Szpadel używany w ciężkiej glebie, głównie glina - do rozsadzania roślin. Sprawdza się świetnie. 4 godziny pracy w godzinę.
