The best reel for the money if you are looking for a good dependable quality reel to get you fishing get this, easy to use strong drag system nice and smooth for the money you can spend more for a worse reel. No brained really

Great Durable budget reel.
Good Reel, I have three of these in different sizes, All are smooth and do the job.

Great reel , would be better with a spare spool.
Excellent bomb proof reel that I use for spinning for bass off the beach and heavier lure fishing for pike. The larger handle provides a good secure grip when fishing in surf with heavier lures when hands can become wet and cold. My only criticism is being the absence of a spare spool which for some anglers is a vital requirement when line changes are called for. I cannot seem to find spare spools anywhere for this particular reel. If your decision for a reel dictates a spare spool you may need to contemplate other reels. Such a shame as this is truly a very well made item with a lovely smooth retrieve and silky clutch operation though a little heavy in weight. Lastly, be mindful this has a permanent anti reverse which ensures a good hook up when striking into a fish. In essence, you cannot backwind, therefore you rely on your drag system to play the fish if paying line out as a fish runs. I like this feature as it also stops coils of line from inadvertently falling off the spool causing tangles if the handle was allowed to wind the other way. All in all, a fantastic reel though unfortunately let down by the difficulty of obtaining spare spools!!

Good solid reel
A good reel. I like that the handle folds down for transport. It's a bit heavy perhaps, but that doesn't bother me. It's the balance of the whole rod-and-reel combo that matters more than the absolute weight.

I bought this reel to pair up with my Berkley 10 foot night stick, I cant wait for next season to break this sucker in on a big sturgeon in the St-Lawerance it feels great, nice and smooth, and light for its size
