Do it yourself and save $$$
Our 10 year old Schlage dead bolt weirdly stuck closed after major rain and wind. I took it out to lubricate and dropped it. The key cylinder popped and a bunch of tiniest springs and rods fell all over and l could not find all of them. I decided to “spring” for new lock. The locksmith wanted $150. to come out next week. It took less than 24 hours to arrive and 5 minutes to install. I am very satisfied!

Good lock with simple security upgrades
Easy to use, easy to install, easy to rekey. Looks sharp. Uses spool top pins in most of the pin stacks for extra pick resistance and a hardened steel plate over the bible to make it harder to drill. It's definitely still pickable and probably drillable, but these are simple ways that make it at least a little bit harder to compromise the lock. Comes with a thick strike plate and long screws.

Schlage quality and keyed on both sides
Schlage must be the top dog in locks - I consider them #1. I upgraded to these keyed deadbolts on a new home purchase. Many deadbolts have a knob on the interior side - but if someone breaks into your house say through a window they can then just go to your door and move the deadbolt allowing others access and potentially your items to depart! Keyed on both sides - nobody opens that door without a key. Know where a key is in case of fire, etc.. but I think it's worth it to go keyed on both sides. Love these units - installed on two doors.

Get a Schlage, or cry later
Great lock mechanism, very tough and high quality, my Brass one looks great, Keys work easy and always, easy install. I feel much safer with this Deadbolt on my front door than any of the lower cost ones, and you can tell in everything that comes with it its just tougher and higher quality than other deadbolts. If you want a regular keyed deadbolt, get this.
