Good size - bigger than I expected. i'm 5'4" and could pull it up to my shoulders. But, if you're curvier or taller, it may not be as snugly as you'd hoped. Plenty big enough for a child. You will have to wash it - comes in airtight sealed bag but smells like soured clothes. Yes, the smell is unpleasant, but it will come out in a good wash. I would still recommend it though, considering the price and over all quality.

This one was so cute that my daughters were trying to take mine. It is comfortable and great for light cover while watching TV. Easy to travel with in the carrying bag provided.And the pictures just don't do it justice, it is absolutely beautiful!

This was a gift for my daughter's 13th birthday. She absolutely adores it and the mermaid tail blanket has already been to countless sleepovers in just a month. Although it is more "adult-sized," she loves the extra leg room. Originally, I had planned to purchase something on Etsy and was hesitant to go through Amazon. The knitting is actually better than I expected. The only downside is that in just a few week, the stitching between the tail and fin has come undone so it's lost its cinched detail and there is now a small opening in the back. I imagine I can sew this eventually, just wish it had stayed together a little longer.

When I was invited to a mermaid-themed bridal shower for my niece, I bought this blanket as an extra gift. The quality is excellent for the price -- soft and nicely knitted. When she opened it up, she tried it right on and it was the perfect photo op for the "Mermaid Bride"!

Great value for the price. Could have been a little softer but it’s still pretty nice. This was one of the less expensive mermaid blankets that I found and I would say it did the job. Probably wouldn’t purchase it again if I was looking for a traditional blanket.

She thought it was a knitted scarf at first, and yes, it can be used for that on a cold day. The color is beautiful, and the knit is detailed. She loved it!

I bought this as a gift for a tween and I was rather unimpressed with how it arrived. It was in a dirty plastic bag and when I opened it I was very disappointed that it didn't have any type of tag or anything on it. Not even a ribbon with some type of label. I'm gifting a blanket that looks used because there's no evidence of it being new.

Great tail for a person who sits at the computer for a long session. Keeps the feet warm.

It took a very long time to arrive to Canada. Wrapped up in tight plastic it appear to have been well shipped. The item itself was a great Christmas gift and our daughter really wanted one. So of course it was a hit. It’s warm, ok for being soft with a tight knit pattern and of course we an amazing gift. If you needed one order it well in advance in case it doesn’t arrive in time. It could’ve been a customs problem but the tracking was poor on it as I believe Amazon still has it in the process of being shipped. It looks like it will last a few sleep overs so longevity is the key.
