Much former then I thought. Good quality! The measures are very elaborate, and even equipped with a mini magnifying glass to see the fine measurements. A good stuff to carry when hiking.

I thought the point of a compass was to reliably point north. Nice bells and whistles and all, but it would be good if it could decide which way is north, which is what I bought it for. Right now it is on my desk pointing north-east - 45 degrees off. The bubble is centered to indicate it is lying flat. I even tapped it, and it can't get it right. 5 minutes ago, it was pointing north-north-west. I know magnetic north is not THAT far off geographical north. Good thing I'm not lost on a mountain!! I will be returning it.

Where is the north ?I can't vouch for any other buyer but the compass I 've received show anywhere but north. The arrow moves freely and is misdirected by 45°... you should buy pricier but true .
