After 6 months the light is extremely low. It never attracted any flys, fruit flys or bugs. Also I never heard it zap as advertised. Don't recommend this product. The unit in the picture is on. Can hardly see the light. The uv light was brighter for the first several months. It was a waste of time and money.

I plugged into outlet by where I have trouble with small flying insects but so far after 3 weeks the unit hasn't caught any. I think it Doesn't work.

I prefer a much larger bug trap that Amazon no longer carries. This unit is less than half the size of the superior ovoid shaped zapper it replaced. Thus, less than half the effectiveness. It will only work on VERY small flies but nothing any larger. Even placing two side-by-side won't be much of an improvement. You'd be better to opt for a much larger version of this UV zapper.

I put two of these in my kitchen, and left them there, turned on, for two weeks. Even with 10 flies flying around, they did not zap a single fly. I followed the instructions. The purple light was on. At the end of the two weeks, I found a single tiny gnat in the tray of one of them.Zero stars. Don't waste your money.

Purchased bug zapper in July for house plants that brought little flys in the house. It worked, with a few weeks saw a dramatic decrease. However, the blue light it emits decrease and within a couple months I no longer think it attracts flys.

Arrived in time for little mosquitos and gnats sneaking in. Works fine.

A good choice if you need a bug zapper for a small area. It has zapped several mosquitoes, no problem.

I have had this item for almost 6 months now and am coming back to provide a review. I have lots and lots of houseplants, so managing gnats is an ongoing thing. I bought this product because the description specifically advertises that it can be used for gnats. I plugged it in several locations all where I commonly have issues, including countertops, on the wall near plants, even inside of my greenhouse for a few weeks. After all this time it has not caught even one.
