Fans make dust fly all over the place, which is no good. So do these covers reduce that problem, or do they turn the fan into an "air purifier"?

You cover the entire blade one at a time for cleaning so there is no dust flying around. All dusts are collected inside !! It is very easy to use and cleans blades well.

Is the fiber 100% polyester or a blend with polyamide?

The fiber is 80% polyester & 20% polyamide.
