DVD of Radiohead's live performance in Germany in June 2001 which was a masterpiece of aural symmetry. Beginning with the National Anthem, the band gave the audience nearly two hours of otherworldly experimentation in electronic rock. Filmed at the peak of their popularity, the concert conjures moods of loss and alienation in the modern world. 'They transform studio-centric creations into live songs that are both towering and incandescent, in concert Radiohead are as organic and explosive as any band playing today.' - PopMatters. Review: Radiohead Rules - Ok, No B.S. This band rules and so does this DVD No it's not in High Def or Blu-ray or anything like that. What you get is Radio head rocking out at its best. great songs, great band. I saw this DVD a few times in the store and always past it over thinking it was going to be another hack DVD. The reviews on desertcart gave me the courage to solider on and purchase it. Best move i ever made. Glad to have it in my collection. I think you will too. Came fast when ordered and not one problem. KUDOS Aliens Review: Beautiful ripoff - I'm sure this is one reason the band cut loose the label--that some schmoes from New Jersey could license a performance from Germany and sell it, and yes, the quality is pretty much adequate TV/2-channel stereo, but since I didn't see 'em on the "Kid A" tour, that makes this kinda priceless, right? (Their "tkol" show in Atlanta recently was, er, transcendent.) But if you love this band, you will enjoy this show, and meanwhile let's petition the band to release some surround-sound BluRay shows from the last couple tours ("From the Basement" tkol IS awesome), because they are the greatest progessive rock band of our time.

Sketchy
I've started discovering Radiohead over the last couple years and was looking for some concert video of them. Well, this is it--video. Don't let the 2008 copyright fool you, because this dvd looks like a bootleg copy of a VHS, with quite a bit of video issues. Honestly, if you muted it, you probably would not recognize it as Radiohead it is so frustratingly bad. The production is also sadly lacking in that there are a lot of shots of Thom Yorke or the crowd, and random ones of the rest of the band, but nothing that syncs with the music like they were familiar with the work when they shot it. The sound is only fair. I'm sure it isn't truly 5.1, but my chief complaint is how flat the bass sounds, even though they kick off with National Anthem. I'd give it two stars because at least it's 1:52 of concert video of Radiohead, but since I'll probably enjoy it more with the TV off and just listening to it through my stereo that sort of defeats the purpose of it being a dvd. If you can forgive the video attributes because you just just dig the band, more power to ya. Here's the set list: National Anthem Morning Bell Lucky Talk Show Host In Limbo My Iron Lung Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box Exit Music No Surprises Dollars + Cents Street Spirit You and Whose Army? Be careful of which version you get of this video
I just wanted to say I saw the reviews below and I think the sound question and video quality may be to do with which version you get. I ordered this here but what I received had a cover which was different than what was displayed here. On my version it is a picture of the band and the video is distributed by Hudson Street. As another review said below, the picture is bootleg quality and the sound quality was very poor. A lot of Johnny Greenwood's parts are almost completely lost in the mix. I suspect I got a substandard version and that it is not the version that was really being sold here. If anybody knows if that is the case please let me know, as I like the set list a lot, and what I can hear, although some of the parts are faint, (particularly John's unfortunately), sounds like it would have been an excellent performance if the sound hadn't been lost. Again, my version has a cover with the guys' picture on it and Radiohead Live in big green letters, not the artwork displayed here.

Great show. Quite a few songs they just never play live anymore. Sounds good. Picture just ok. Huge fan, so I really don't care. Thanks.

Repeat of other reviews: Poor Video Quality but Great Sound
I personally purchase concert DVDs and Blu-Rays for the visuals first, then sound quality second. Generally speaking, if the picture quality is good... so is true with the sound. This DVD was a real disappointment. The picture is horribly grainy and worse than VHS or some low grade rip to YouTube. I have some bootlegs that were entirely fan shot with a hand held camera that are better than this DVD. The funny part about this is that this show was professionally shot for television! So, I'm not sure what happened to the picture quality on this DVD. Even the menus and such suggest it's a low rent DVD company. IF you can get past the picture quality, the show is indeed a fantastic one. The sound quality (while it's probably NOT 5.1 like others posted) it's definitely acceptable for a concert DVD. Right now as I type this, I have the DVD playing in the other room and it sounds great. So, the picture is crap... but the sound is pretty good. The price is low on this which is why I took the chance. I basically said "3 beers at the pub tonight, or this Radiohead DVD?" I do think it's worth mentioning that I viewed this DVD on a 50 inch plasma through my Blu-Ray player with DTS surround sound. If you have a smaller set, the picture is ok (but still not excellent)... it just doesn't look great on a larger screen.

There's not enough live Radiohead on DVD to go around
Kudos to those reviews that recognize this performance for what it is. Radiohead at the top of their game not long after their release of Kid-A. If you collect DVDs for their sound and video quality and you sort of like Radiohead, then don't bother. If on the other hand, you love Yorke and crew for the geniuses that they are, then add this to your collection. For me personally, I don't get YouTube on my big screen so I have to take what I can get.

assuming 4 stars is for something like the 'live at the astoria' dvd (minus a star cause it's not anamorphic) the image quality is not very good (and its 4.3 letterbox)....... imagine watching something from a vcr thru a widescreen plasma tv ...... the sound, even though it shows 5.1 (on my system) is only stereo but it is pretty good .... a well balanced mix with plenty of bass ........ if you stand far enough away from it, like i do, it is watchable. fans will enjoy ! great performance worth the $12 (total in CAD) get it before it's gone ... check out the amazon.com page for more detailed reviews ........

The image is not the product you're selling. I got a cheap rip-off DVD that looks like someone made it at home, and I looked online for a match to it and other people sell it too, but apparently it's very 'horrible' quality. I ordered the DVD from the image, not this one. Looking for a way to return it, not buying from here again.

I bought this for my man, and he was disappointed to see that it was all old music on it. The date of release mislead him to think there was newer stuff on it.
