Zesty Paws Salmon Oil for Dogs & Cats - Omega 3 for Dogs 8.5oz

I have 4 dogs different sizes. One of my middle size was hit hard He was so bad off. He was pulling his hair out. I cried and bought every shampoo different herbs nothing worked. Then I seen omega-3 and gave it a try. OH if nothing else it made a great topper on their food all my dogs love it. But in time I seen Tray was itching less, hair coming back. Things starting to get better. It's been 3 weeks and what I was praying for started to happen. An old dog was happy and started to play. he still has a few itching. I'm on my next bottle and I will never give it up. Trust us that when you read us it's all TRUE

My dogs are obsessed with this. I give them each 2 pumps in their day/night time feedings. Their coats have gotten so incredibly soft and shiny. Only downside is your dog will start to smell like salmon lol

We started giving this to our Rottweilers, and I was honestly surprised by how quickly we noticed a difference. Their coats feel so much softer and smoother, and they have a really healthy shine now. Even when petting them, you can immediately tell the difference—it makes their fur feel incredibly soft. They had no problem taking it, which is always a huge plus since one of our dogs can be picky. The pump bottle is easy to use, and adding it to their food takes just a few seconds. We love that it contains omega-3s to help support skin and coat health, and based on our experience, it really seems to deliver. If you’re looking for something to help improve your dog’s coat and skin, this has been well worth it for us. We’ll definitely keep buying it for our pups.

I would be giving this a 5-star rating because I can already tell a difference in our cat's skin & coat. She does not have white flakes on her back like she did before starting her on this. Also, a BIG plus is that she loves it, ALOT! But I am only giving it a 4-star because the pump dispenser is less than ideal. It pumps out okay, but it leaks pretty bad. I poured it out of its original container and into a wide mouth mason jar. I'm okay with that and all is well now. You have a great product here, but the pump dispenser needs work.

A decade+ ago, 2 newborn, sibling kittens, inner city-abandoned, were rescued by our caring police, turned over & nurtured through infancy by our local vet hospital. Sisters Silky & Sahsa adopted us, full of excitement & endless purring, when they were just 10 weeks old. They slept, ate, played, were perfectly potty trained, got spayed / had all their shots, & have filled our family with love & laughs, while gracefully growing into their 65 yr old human equivalency years. Our child (now adult) has progressed through elementary, middle school, HS, & has just graduated (away University) Magna Cum Laude with BA degree (while working continuously through all 4 yrs, straight A's/ Deans list); & has immediately secured well paid employ. Naturally, we believe our cats enhanced & supported these successes (!) 😀 We've always fed them highest quality, grain free food (dry), w fresh water every day. We live in Upstate NY (country / suburbs). They're indoor, short haired, dark torties. Over the past few years, especially during Spring thaw into Summer heat & humidity, they've been hacking up loud, frequent, & (mostly) non-productive attempts to upchuck the fur plugs amassed in their complex, multi-stage, digestive innards. ("Complex" compared to humans.) Upon observation, cylindrical "plugs" of densely compacted fur are obvious, once expelled- Not stinky, not gross, not mixed w anything gross, just saliva. I googled around a bit, & quickly learned that these fur plugs are just *exactly* as commonly described by vets- cylindrical shaped, tangled masses of fur, (1-2" long), compressed into this shape by the intestines, not gross at all, just fur coated with a little bit of spit (not vomit). Apparently, the fur is supposed to pass out the other end (in much smaller amounts, little by little) into the litterbox, before it ever reaches such a large, tightly compacted, defined mass of fur- And, IF cats need to throw it up, it's supposed to dislodge & be expelled within 1-3 (-ish) attempts. Ongoing, "unproductive" upchuck attempts, are a warning sign that your cat's digestive system is at extreme peril of complete blockage, is a medical emergency- potentially life threatening & may require immediate surgery- So, unbeknownst to me, my cats' recent years of endless throwing up small-large amounts- sometimes of entire meals, other times just of frothy spit- were life-threatening warning signs! It seemed that they'd go on for a week-10 days, until finally expelling (vomiting) up a fur plug. Seriously, they're unmistakable by size, shape, composition. 🙀. Cause to begin with, is excessive fur & Velcro hook-like tongues- They just swallow way too much of their own fur, when grooming. I should add here, that as much as we love our cats, I alone support my family / pay the bills. I've owned pets in the past, & have learned the hard way, that as much as we love our pets, I'm not a billionaire, not going to sacrifice our family's entire financial security (& my own future retirement), on vet fees... That being said, I'm not heartless, I certainly don't want our furry family members to suffer, unnecessarily. Google to the rescue again- I very quickly id'd *exact* symptoms, & was surprised to learn what an immediate, urgent, lethal condition this was (cat trying, unsuccessfully, to cough up a fur plug, from so deep inside their digestive systems). P-R-E-V-E-N-T-I-O-N is the key to alleviate suffering & avoid unnecessary early death by excruciating intestinal blockage. A few frequent recommendations stood out as totes feasible- i.e., mixing a teaspoon of canned, mashed pumpkin into their food for added fibre, to help them poop out accumulated fur (tip: freeze individual portions in ice-cube trays, thaw as needed- ingenious!); And or, mixing a small amount of healthy oil into their food (ie, up to 1 teaspoon/day leftover meat juices/oils, olive oil, fish oil, etc.). Yay Amazon! Reviews astutely warned against starting w too much all at once- 1 poor reviewer fed her tiny dog a teaspoon per meal to start with, he suffered severe diarrhea & dehydration for 2 weeks... I certainly wanted to avoid torturing my cat's. In fact, our cats can pick out a fraction of a pill in a mound of yummy tuna, so I was very wary wether they'd eat food with this at all. So, I bought this small 8 oz bottle to begin with (even though price wise, larger bottles are a fraction of the cost per. ml.). 1st day- Opened/unscrewed bottle, shook contents well, pumped standing oil in dispensing tube, back into bottle, re-shook, & re-pumped freshly shaken oil into their dry food- Just 2-3 drops. They sniffed, they liked, they gobbled! (It has NO strong fishy smell). After a few days- 1/2 pump onto food, mixed well. They loved it! I did a few days of 1/2 pumps, all OK. (Trick is to watch color & consistency of poops- If too much oil is given, stool will be lighter in color, looser, & supposedly buoyant in water). All was OK. I moved up to 1 full pump daily for several days, then 1.5, & now 2 (allowing several days each). We're at 2 pumps/daily (2 cats: 11 lbs & 14 lbs). Directions on bottle indicate this is the proper amount for our little fur monsters, they like it, their fur is soffft, bowel habits ok. For now, it seems their stools are noticeably less dry, I imagine must pass easier/more comfortably. I'm a far cry from their age (65!), but for now, at the very least, I have to imagine pooping easier is a nice comfort, at their age! We'll need to wait a month or 3 before we can discern wether there's any intestinal benefit, though. I don't want to overload their systems, by increasing the dosage- Ill stick with the manufacturer's recommended daily dosage. It's just SO easy to mix it in their food! I keep the bottle in the fridge with a zip lock bag. It stays liquid, & doesn't solidify. They love it, no adverse effects, now we wait to see if it helps. Next time, I'll buy the larger bottle! 😻

I have 2 dogs. My cavalier, who's 9, when I got him he was on a poor diet, underweight and seemed shut down. He shedded sooooo badly and I'm not putting that lightly. No matter how many times I brushed him more hair would fall. During our first vet visit I addressed this with her, my concerns, and over a handful of visits got him completely vetted. We put him on Purina Pro Plan complete essentials and I was told to give it time. Let's try this first before we start throwing other things at him. Lol. It could simply be he wasn't cared for with his most basic needs and this alone, with lots of love could do it. So we did. Time has passed, he's happy (a completely different dog) and healthy! However, there is still some excess shedding left and some dry/itchy skin. I also, unexpectedly, found an 8-10 week old puppy on the side of the road in grave condition. Skin and bones. Got her to the vet quickly to see what we could do, if anything. For a short period of time I was at war with myself, if I'd keep her or what (Can I do it, take on a second dog? Can I take on a puppy, at that!?) All these questions running through my head. That didn't last long though. There had to have been a reason we crossed paths and this little soul needed someone to care for her. Life has already been so cruel to her. I told her, the puppy, and the vets office that she'd have a home with me if she made it through the wkd. I promised her she would never have to worry about a thing! I'd give it my best shot if she did too. I'd spoil her rotten. She made it through and that significantly increased the odds of her making it! So she came home with me and we started her journey of recovery. She too had allergies when I found her. Goopy eyes, rashes on her belly and itchy skin. The vet said it should clear up on its own with some proper nutrition, a good bath or 2 and time. From the looks she'd never seen a bath or probably the inside of someone's home. She was matted, had ticks and very dirty. She's now my very smart, healthy teething little velociraptor, with the exception of some itchy skin and an occasional rash or two that come and go. I decided to put both of them on the chewable version, Skin and Coat bites by Zesty Paws. I didn't really notice much of a difference after a bit, so I switched to this. I should've in the first place! This is a godsend! I will never not be without it. It's a subscription item now. It's been 2 weeks and there is less hair loss in general in this house and on my furniture....and me. I'm not constantly vacuuming, using a Chom Chom or a lint roller. When I brush my cavalier there isn't just gobs and gobs of hair coming out. How he didn't go bald baffles me. His coat isn't where it should be yet with the combination of diet and this supplement, but I strongly feel we are on the right track and given some more time that will be accomplished! My Aussie mix puppy, her itching has decreased substantially and since starting this 2 weeks ago, I haven't seen one rash! I drizzle this over their dinner. Both love it! I do keep this refrigerated as it states and give it a bit of a shake prior to pouring (me thing). I sorta wish it wasn't orange though, that seems so.... unnatural, but it works, so I ignore it.

Great product for dry skin. I have a 15 year old dog she loves it. This will help also with the spread of topical flea products and even pill form.

The oil itself works great. I used it a few years ago for my Norwegian elkhound and it helped with her coat and shedding immensely. Now I use it for my frenchie and it works for him too, but I’m now on my second bottle with him and it keeps leaking when I use it. I double check to make sure the cap is twisted and on tight but it still manages to leak every time. So it’s unfortunate I’m going to have to find another brand with better packaging.

This has been a staple in our cat's meal routine for the last several weeks. It provides a concentrated source of Omega-3 fatty acids that has noticeably improved the texture of her coat while helping to manage dandruff. What I like High Quality: I appreciate that this is made from wild-caught Alaskan salmon, ensuring a clean and potent source of EPA and DHA without unnecessary fillers. Effective: Within about three weeks of daily use, my cat's fur felt significantly softer, and the dandruff from her dry skin has almost entirely disappeared. Convenient: The pump mechanism makes it very easy to measure out the exact dosage without making a mess or getting fish oil on my hands. What I don't like Initial Odor: While my cat loved the scent, it is quite a strong fishy smell that lingers for a few minutes after the meal is finished. Pump Drip: Occasionally, a small amount of oil can dry at the tip of the nozzle and drip down the side of the bottle, so I recommend keeping it on a small tray or paper towel.

Didnt sit well with my cats, used the dosage they mentioned on the bottle. They kept vomiting everytime they eat from it.
