Super Scratch Art Pads: Mythical Creatures

It's great. It's pretty. It's fun. Couple cons but nothing to lose a star about. The examples and pics if they show from other people, I know I can't draw straight exact lines all day long(unless it's my job to). So don't expect something with perfect lines. Very little the corners peel of the art or some of the sections while scratching. I'm talking very little. So if you think it will be perfect, again like I said, it won't. I really don't think it's worth losing a star over, it's really relaxing, looks great and fun. Completely worth it and highly recommend

I love the pictures. There are mermaids, fairies, werewolves, bigfoot. It will take me a long time to get through this book. Each picture has a lot of detail so it's pretty time consuming to complete one. It's a lot of fun and very relaxing just to focus on scratching off the black paint revealing a beautiful, colorful picture, and tune everything out.

I am thoroughly enjoying these! Very relaxing and fun. The pages and book are a good quality. I ordered metal scraper tools to use as the wooden one it came with was too thin for me to hold onto for very long and wouldn't stay sharp enough for my liking. Note on the rub off: The first page I had a lot of rubbing off while I was working on it. Before I started the next pages I sprayed them with a light mist of hairspray first. Then I also worked from the middle of the page outward so that my hand wasn't rubbing over completed areas already as much. The last two I have had no rub off at all. Hope this helps others.

Awesome images. Only gave 4 stars because the wooden tool that comes with this book is horrible. You cannot sharpen it with a pencil sharpener, unlike what the book says to do, because it is bamboo which shreds easily. Even using sand paper doesn’t work well enough to get a fine point that lasts more than a few strokes. Do yourself a favor and purchase a tool set, even if you only plan on doing this one book. I’ve been working on the first drawing for a few nights now so investing in a tool kit was well worth then $13.00.

I think I've become slightly addicted to scratch art as of lately. This is the fifth book I've purchased and this one also does not disappoint. The pictures are beautiful and are very easy to scratch. I will say, however, I do not care for the scratch stick that comes with this book, so I purchased a plastic stick (black with the gold tip), which is great for getting large areas and thick lines. I also purchased a box of orange wood mani/pedi sticks to use, since they are super sharp. They are perfect for outlining as well as getting those extremely fine lines within the pictures. And then when they dull down, I just use a regular emery board nail file (medium grit) to sharpen the point. I lay the pointy side down sideways on the file and while I run it across the file, I simultaneously spin the stick. It sharpens them right up. I would also like to mention that the pictures within this book are quite detailed, so if you're looking to purchase this for an elementary school aged child, I would probably look elsewhere. This book seems to be made more for teenagers and adults. Young children may not have the patience for something this detailed.

Scratch art seems to be all the rage these days. The drawings were super cute if a little difficult to do. The wooden pen that comes with it is very thin and hard to hold. I even purchased separate scratch tools with more of a pen like size but the amount of pressure you have to exert is too hard for me since I had carpal tunnel surgery. My hands would be cramping and sore after a few moments. If it was easier to scratch and only the grey lines were scratchable instead of being able to accidentally scratch where you don’t want to, it would be way better. For those without hand limitations, this is an amazingly fun hobby!

This is not one you can rush through! Lots of details, so it takes time to complete a page. I personally love it, the designs are great and the colors pop.

I really love the pictures in this book, and the scratch pad are a fun alternative to adult coloring books. The meditative, relaxing feel is the same but the activity is different enough to keep it interesting if you're looking for something a little different. Know that the scratcher that comes with the book isn't sharp enough for some of the detail lines, but can easily be sharpened with either a knife or a pencil sharpener.

Wonderful! I highly suggest getting engraving tools instead of using the wooden pick that comes at the back if you want to have better quality results though! The designs are beautiful and lots of fun! Love it!

This is a lovely, very detailed book. Well worth the money! Plenty of different designs to do. I wish there were more than 4 in the whole series!

dessin jolie facile à réaliser mais la peinture noir est de mauvaise qualité et de retire trop facilement il faut faire attention au bord des dessin si on veux que ça reste propre et net

Recomendo vivamente. Scratch art é extremamente relaxante. Alguns dos animas 'míticos' dos desenhos são particularmente feios.
