what would everyone suggest for new savage axis with monstrum picatinny rail? medium or low

I have a savage axis II precision and I chose the high profile rings. They give you more adjustability cheek weld and eye relief without being close to the barrel.

Ring height for 44mm bell ? Med , high ?

I would use a High ring that should be high enough to clear your barrel.

how many inch lbs. of torque is recommended for these rings

Stick with the standard ring torque values that are discussed all over the internet. For me I first take into consideration the caliber and recoil that is generated, rifles with muzzle brakes can reduce recoil considerably. All that taken into account I will torque scope rings 12-18 “lbs and ring mounting base 25-30 “lbs.

What height do I need for a 56mm scope, picatinny rail on a remmington 700 action/ barrel ?

I have a precision rifle with picatinny scope mount as well. As to you question about the Rem 700 platform I would go with the “high profile” option as I did. Depending on your adjustable cheek weld mounting or if stationary cheek weld stock also plays a part in what works for you. But all in all I believe the “high profile” option would work best, I have about 3/4 of inch from bottom of my scope to top of the barrel with this option and still have great eye relief. Hope this helps.
