I ordered this on Christmas Eve night and it arrived as forecast early on the 27th December. I bought this for an elderly bed bound relative who doesn't have broadband in the house. The TV was already tuned into Freeview channels via a roof aerial in a different room. So I took the tv upstairs and plugged in this aerial fully expecting I would have to retune. No I didn't it picked up all the channels already there. Picture is amazing as is the sound quality and the aerial is actually positioned on a shelf in a fitted wardrobe.... I remember the days of portable tvs with aerials like coat hangers and was envisioning similar picture and sound quality. This aerial is far superior and I am amazed by how good it is. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who needs a tv without broadband. The price was extremely good for the quality of the product. I would buy now, before they put the price up ;-) I should mention that there is a nice long cable connecting the tv to the aerial. Giving you lots of positioning capabilities. You just connect it into the back of the tv and Bob's your uncle. the stand is simple to assemble, it just clips together and takes seconds to do. Again I am amazed by this product and cannot recommend it strongly enough. It certainly saved the day for me and my elderly relative.

Took some time to set up and find a good location, but once you’ve found a good place, it worked better than any other aerial I’ve tried! Finally got good picture quality when have been putting up with crackly TV for years! The clear version is also quite discreet and can be stuck to a window as well.

I finally upgraded to a smart tv with Freeview, but I live in a ground floor flat and the building has no digital aerial, and Sky is way beyond my monthly budget. I tried a different aerial with a signal booster but HD was laggy and kept breaking up, and there was no SD channel available as an alternative. So I ordered this one with no great expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised. Straight out of the box, connect to the tv and stick it to the wall in the direction of my nearest transmitter. Boom - 120 channels, crystal clear, some of which are part of Extras packages on Sky. I will give the caveat that this doesn’t give me HD live tv. However I have all the main terrestrial channels and the quality even in SD is very, very good. The other aerial gave me HD that didn’t work, with no SD alternative so I was faced with having to stream via iPlayer for BBC channels which defeats the point of Freeview. To sum up - this aerial is impressive, simple to set up and gives lots of good quality channels. Highly recommended.

This is a tale of two parts...... I recently moved into a rented ground floor property, directly opposite a school. I was disappointed to realise that the landlord had not installed a fixed exterior aerial. When checking my postcode online it shows that the TV mast that I'm likely to connect to is 37km/22 miles away so I decided to give this aerial a try. 1. I ordered it in May, connected it, put it in the stand on the window sill and tuned my TV. I got decent reception however I quickly discovered that traffic could cause interference and, living opposite a school, this normally quiet cul-de-sac turns into whacky races! I used the adhesive pads to stick the aerial as high as possible on the window and problem solved. No interference although signal was low on a couple of channels but I was happy to accept that. 2. A few days ago new windows were installed in the property. This is when the real problems started. If I stuck the aerial to the very top, right hand corner of the window I was only getting about 50% of the channels I did prior to the new windows. In any other location directly on the window I was getting 0 channels. If I put the aerial in the stand and positioned it on the windowsill I could get 70% however the slightest thing would cause interference, from traffic to my neighbour upstairs returning home. Not ideal so I contacted Monarch directly. They replied very promptly suggesting that the issue could either be caused by aluminium casings contained within the new window frames and/or a reflective coating on the window panes preventing the aerial picking up a signal. They suggested that I try to, as accurately as possible, position the aerial in the direction of the mast (if you're unsure have a look at the direction other people have their roof aerials pointing and try to mimic) and place it as high as possible but away from the window. I 100% admit I was dubious however I had nothing to lose so I got my ladders and stuck the aerial onto the wall, just below the ceiling, and I retuned my TV. Incredibly I now have full channel listing, an improved signal strength on all channels, HD and standard, than before plus I actually prefer the aerial on the wall as opposed to the window as the white cable is now less obvious. I highly recommend this piece of kit - it's amazing value and great customer service from Monarch. I would also strongly urge anyone who finds they're either only finding a few channels, are getting poor reception/interference or in fact 0 channels to try and position the aerial away from their windows.

On 21st March 2018 and directly following a compulsory retune to our YouView box, we lost 9 x HD channels, which despite countless retunes, never returned. These lost nine channels were 106 (BBC4 HD), 107 BBC News HD, and up to and including 114 (Quest HD) resulting in the channels on my Guide jumping from 105 (C5 HD) directly to 201 (CBBC). From 21st March onwards I had numerous conversations with BT (my TV provider) but not once did they suggest an aerial issue. On the 20th July 2018 a BT engineer, armed with a new YouView box, came to investigate and tested the strength / quality of the signal (perfect) and carried out various retunes and tried the new box, all to no avail….but again, no mention whatsoever of a potential aerial issue. I finally contacted the technical department at Freeview who explained that the problem was indeed with my roof aerial which according to them was now the wrong type and that following the 21st March retune, would no longer function properly and needed replacing. This, despite the fact that we have a very large professionally installed roof aerial and are in direct line to the transmitter mast at Crystal Palace, just a few miles from our house in South East London. I was very upset by Freeview’s advice because up till then, I was completely unaware of any aerial issue as no one had brought it to my attention and on the YouvVew box itself there was never any message displayed suggesting contacting Freeview, even though this retune must have affected many tens of thousands of YouView users. I then registered a complaint with BT, who insisted they had never heard of any issues and that any aerial problem was not their responsibility, even though Freeview had told me that BT were only too aware of the problem and that they would have received many complaints from customers like myself. So in October I had a new state of the art roof aerial fitted, and guess what? It still did NOT fix the problem and all those same HD channels remained missing! I then researched online and as a last resort recently purchased the very inexpensive, small, thin and flimsy looking RGTech Monarch 50 Transparent Indoor Freeview HDTV Aerial. It took me only a couple of minutes to fix it with the attached sticky pads to the top of a window (hidden away behind a curtain), plug the aerial into the YouView box, re-tune and YES!! IT WORKED PERFECTLY! At long last we have our missing channels back and are so happy! What a superb piece of kit. Genius! Thank you. Richard

I wasn't expectiung much of this aerial, the last indoor aerial I had used had given a reasonable picture, but far from the standard achievable with an outdoor one. But, since my neighbour had had my roof aerial removed while I was out (she's an absolute idiot), and it seemed pointless replacing it at the cost of a couple of hundred quid when she was almost certain to do the same again (the woman is as obnoxious as she is stupid), and I was getting sick of having to watch stuff online later due to the signal breaking up, an indoor aerial it had to be. I'm only three miles from the transmitter, which helps a bit, but as I said my previous indoor aerial wasn't up to much, and that was a powered one so I expected this to be no better than adequate. I decided that I'd try it first on the wall, rather than the window, to avoid the cable getting in the way of the window blind, so i gently pressed it onto the wall just to one side of the window bay and plugged in the cable to my YouView box. I was utterly amazed. The picture is every bit as good as with the roof aerial, an excellent reception of every channel, with the HD channels rendered perfectly. One brief hiccup occurred. I put the aerial up mid-afternoon, right after the postie delivered it, and in the evening of the following day there was a clatter and when I looked round it had fallen from the wall. As I stated i had placed it gently onto the wall, as i didn't want to risk damaging the element, but this time I pressed it on much more firmly, and a couple of weeks on it's still there and working fine, so it does need to be given plenty of pressure to grip onto the wall securely. I bought the transparent version, and once it place most of it really is pretty much invisible in daylight, all that is apparent is the small white box and the cable running from it, the clear part just merges into the wallpaper. Under lights in the evening it does show up more due to its reflective surface, but it still isn't noticeable unless one is looking for it. Frankly, now that an indoor aerial this good is available, I think the days of roof mounted aerials will be coming to an end.

I recently inherited a 10-year-old, 37-inch Samsung HD Ready TV from my Brother-in-Law, as he was looking to replace it with a newer Smart TV. As such, I was looking to place the TV upstairs in my bedroom. This particular Samsung TV I was kindly given is not a "Smart TV". As such, rather than pay to have a second Virgin v6 TiVo box in the house, I wanted to invest in an indoor aerial that would allow me to pick up some Freeview channels, as a cost-effective alternative. Something that would allow us to entertain the kids with CBeebies, while tidying upstairs or running their bath, for example. It is worth noting that I have tried other indoor aerials upstairs before (with another TV), but with little success. I was unable to pick up any channels previously, in the same room this inherited TV was to feature. After intensive research and reading many reviews, I opted to give the RGTech Monarch 50 Transparent Indoor Freeview HDTV Aerial a try. It is seemingly more expensive than other aerials, but given the overwhelmingly positive reviews both on Amazon, and other review sites, I thought it was worth spending that little extra on. Especially, as the aerials I had bought previously were considerably cheaper. I wondered whether the build quality was an issue with those I had tried previously. On receiving the new aerial and unboxing it, I was a little concerned by just how thin and flimsy it looked. Nevertheless, I plugged the aerial into the back of the Samsung TV and stuck it to the window, as advised. Apparently, reception should be better, as there is little by way of interference placing the aerial so close to the exterior of the house. I then ran the auto-tuner on the TV itself. A few minutes later, no channels (or even radio stations) returned... It is worth noting that my nearest TV transmitter is in Sutton Coldfield - some 30 miles away from my home in South Derbyshire. Nevertheless, I repositioned the aerial again, about a meter away, at the same height as before, albeit this time against the wall facing my driveway (in our bedroom). After running the auto-tuner again to my amazement, I picked up 95 channels this time. I then repositioned it again, about another meter further along the wall, but again at the same height as before. Now I could get 130 channels. Brilliant. The only problem now was that the three sticky pads attached to the aerial itself had now lost their stickiness. As such, I went to my local supermarket and bought some "glue dots", which I then stuck directly to the aerial to hold it back against the wall. Job's a good'n. I was so pleased with the television coverage received upstairs that I quickly decided to invest in another one, for our television downstairs in the kitchen. Up to this point, we only use that TV for mirroring content from our smartphones to our Apple TV. We do not use it for watching Freeview, in that sense, as again, I have never been able to get good reception in our kitchen. Sadly, I was not so lucky second time around with the same aerial. I spent three painstaking hours positioning the aerial around the perimeter of our kitchen, eventually being able to locate 90 channels, albeit with significant interference making television viewing impossible. By this point, the aerial was covered in scratches (be wary, it is very susceptible to surface damage, so be careful during positioning) and I had used a whole packet of glue dots 60 or so. Not even the accompanying aerial stand could come to my rescue. As such, I can only give three stars to the aerial, based on my own personal experience. As with all indoor aerials, it takes time and patience through trial and error to eventually receive good television reception. This is not a simple "plug and play" solution. The bulk of the effort is in finding the best possible position in the room to feature the aerial, without the trailing wire making the room like an eyesore. If I were to give some tips, they would be to opt for the transparent version of the aerial, which is attached to a white cable. As other reviewers have said, it looks more discrete than the black variant. Also, allow yourself plenty of time to position the aerial. You cannot rush this stage of setup. And arm yourself with plenty of glue dots - the pre-supplied sticky pads are not great. Lastly, know when to call it a day. I did not and subsequently wasted three hours trying to get good coverage, which I have now reached the conclusion simply is not achievable in my kitchen. Good luck!

Like a lot of other people, I did not have much confidence in the idea of an indoor aerial, having memories of what they were like years ago. I remembered standing next to the television holding an old-style aerial high and trying to angle it so that it would work, boosted by the electricity in my own body. Forget all that! I set this one up easily and let the automatic tuner on the television run. It found 69 channels, all of which had an amazingly good picture. I did not have to take it to different positions in the room or even turn it at different angles. It just worked! I have it tucked fairly neatly just behind the television, on its stand. There are adhesive dots on it to fasten it to the window and the advice is to use it next to a window and facing the transmitter. I haven't a clue which way that is! Mine is sitting on a cupboard opposite the window. No doubt the distance to the transmitter makes a difference and (I think) ours are not more than twenty miles away. Anyway, for the price, this is a great piece of technology. It is very light and only time will tell whether it is fragile. However, I did drop it once while setting it up and it came apart from its stand a couple of times while I was fiddling about while setting up, with no noticeable damage. The stand is, however, a loose fit and not tremendously stable. It does stand up well in its present position, though. I have a lot of loose cable to hide because of its length, and it would, to me, be intrusive if I had to extend it across the room. However, this is a small problem and no doubt some people need that length of cable. As others have noted, this is a thin and flexible item with little noticeable weight, maybe like thin card. It seems unlikely that it would work or last, but it appears to do both. Excellent!

Instalada en la ventana de un 2º piso y rodeado de edificios cercanos y la verdad es que la recepción es notable. No recuerdo exactamente el número de canales tdt detectados, pero anda por los 50. Todos con calidad notable en un tv fulhd. Ha superado con creces mis expectativas.

J'avais des problèmes de réception avec la radio en FM. Il y avait des stations que je n'arrivais pas à recevoir. Depuis que j'ai mis cette antenne, je n'ai plus de problèmes. La différence est impressionnante, c'est tres nette en réception et elle n'est pas perturbée par des interférences. Le plus c'est sa simplicité d'installation et pas de branchement électrique.

Rezension bezieht sich ausschließlich als Antenne für Radio DAB+ Empfang. Tatort: Reihenmittelhaus, Wände und Decken aus Stahlbeton + 20 cm Wärmedämmung. Gerät: Panasonic SC-RS 54 EG DAB+ und UKW Tuner. Problem: Die mitgelieferte Wurfantenne brachte so gut wie keinen Empfang. Erst als die Wurfantenne auf das Fensterbrett außen gelegt wurde hatte ich Empfang. So bald ich aber schon 10cm Richtung Zimmer ging kein Empfang. Laut Digitalradio Webseite sollten bei uns 32 Sender mit Ausenantenne und 12 Sender mit Indoorantenne empfangbar sein. Ich kaufte mir daraufhin auf Empfehlung im Technomarkt die Zimmerantenne von Hama 121652 mit 36 db Verstärker. Zu Hause aber die große Enttäuschung es wurde auch weiterhin kein Sender gefunden. Selbst auf dem Fensterbrett war kein Empfang zu bekommen. Also Antenne wieder umgetauscht und zum Mediamarkt gegangen. Hier deutlich mehr Auswahl an Antennen. Hier wurde mir die Vivanco 302 Zimmerantenne empfohlen, das sei die mit dem stärksten Verstärker die wir haben so der Verkäufer. Also gekauft, zu Hause ausprobiert und wir hatten etwas Empfang. Wir konnten hiermit immerhin 5 Sender empfangen aber nur mit einer Stäke von max. 2 von 8 Strichen was die Signalstärke betraf. Am nächsten Tag aber schon wieder kein Signal. Wir positionierten die Antenne wieder anderst aber auch hier nur sporadischer Empfang. Im UKW Betrieb rauschten sogar die starken sender. Jetzt hatte ich die Nase gestrichen voll und bestellte mir die RGTech Monarch 50 Transparent. Hatte allerdings an das Produkt keine großen Erwartungen. Aber ich wurde eines besseren belehrt. Antenne angeschlossen und wir hatten sofort volle Signalstärke 8 Striche. Wir bekommen jetzt alle 32 Digitalsender in der Wohnung herein, von denen wir vorher nur träumen konnten. Auch der UKW Empfang ist bombastisch. alle Sender ohne rauschen! Und das beste ist, das diese Antenne ohne Strom funktioniert Also beste Kaufempfehlung, Ich würde am liebsten 10 Sterne vergeben!!!
