Polyform Sculpey Original Box, 794 g - White

My son sculpts with this stuff. It keeps it's shape when moulded . Great

This is great stuff, I’ve never used it before but it was soft and easy to sculpt. I did put it in the oven to harden, I forgot and it went slightly crispy but it was still fine and I just acrylic painted on top.

Box came a damaged but clay was fine on the inside, which wasn’t a problem for me as this isn’t a gift for someone else. If you were to buy it as a gift maybe as for it to be packaged more securely.😁

I've been making stuff with polymer clay for a few years now. I mainly used Fimo, but at the time of purchasing, I found this to be better value (best price for the weight) so i figured it was worth a shot. I have to say, I wasn't too disappointed. I used it to make fridge magnets to resemble my cats (pictured).Comparing it to Fimo:+ Sculpey is much better value+ Sculpey is much more pliable and heats up faster, so requires less time kneading before being shaped+ I also like that it comes in its own durable cardboard box to store it in, Fimo usually comes in a wrapper which is difficult to reseal to prevent dust and crumbs enteringHOWEVER:- When this Sculpey clay is baked, it isn't quite as strong as Fimo, I found it slightly easier to snap, so I had to make delicate areas like the cat ears slightly thicker- When it's baked, although fairly strong, I found it slightly chalky surface texture - If I scratch at it, it'll sort of scrape away, so the texture is more like plaster than the dense "ceramic" feel I get from baked Fimo- Sometimes When the clay is baked, I notice something I need to alter, so I'll add a little more clay on top and bake it again. I've had no problems doing this with Fimo, but possibly due to the slight chalky texture of Sculpey, I found initially sticking 'wet' clay to the baked clay quite difficult - it just didn't want to adhere. I did manage to do it, it was just a lot more fiddly than Fimo.Overall, it is great value for experimental projects, or as a base but I'll probably stick to using Fimo for high-quality items I intend to sell or use long-term.

Quite soft, and does get softer the more you work it with warm hands. Often sticks to silicone tools.Even still, it’s the best value for money in terms of the quantity of clay you get, and it’s good quality stuff. I’ve made ornaments and figurines with it, and they’re all standing the test of time (and gravity). Definitely recommend to all skill levels.

Great product, so quick and easy to use - no kneading needed! Bakes easy and very durable after.

I am a complete convert. Have always used FIMO as I thought it to be the best, having used this I am completely amazed at how easy it is in comparison. Easy to model with, even if doing intricate fiddly bits. Doesn't dry out and is quick and easy to bake. The only draw back is it's white so you'll have to paint it. I'm going to try colouring with acrylic it before baking to see if that works, if it does my choice of colours will be unlimited! Oh and it's really good value for money too, a massive block for £11.00 what's not to rave about :)

If you want to tear up the runway like a diva and sell those garments hunny this modelling clay is your hot ticket. Alternatively if you want to make an army of soldiers that come alive to defend the realm at times of war it is also ok for that too as long as you know a good wizard

Update: -works well to make stamps and sprigs-works better if you bake the ceramics on a oven safe form. I put cornstarch on the bowl so it would not stick.-I tried waiting 1 day before baking to see what would happen and it cracked when it baked.I did ceramics in college a few years ago with college and grad classes for fun, not my major. I haven't since because it was too expensive to fire the pots for each firing. I also had experience helping with the loading and firing. I decided to give this a try because I missed it. I played around with it for about 30 minutes tonight and enjoyed it. I have to admit it is different then the clay I am used to. I find it more forgiving. It also seems harder (less soft). I did not have any issues with cracking or coming apart, but I did use the glue like "bond" stuff and scored it anywhere I connected clay. I used all the tools I would normally use for clay that you fire. It was less messy and easier to clean up then I'm used to.My only concern is I wasn't sure when it was done. My oven usually cooks in about half the time of recipes, so I took it out after 8 minutes but I am not sure if it is done. Not sure how to check if it is done besides seeing if it will bend which could hurt it if it is not dry. I also didn't know how long I could or should wait after I built it to bake it.I used about 1/8 of the clay making my little ring dish and ornament. The hair didn't bake out of it like I am used to so there are little cat hairs in it.If you are trying to make a bowl, I would bake it inside of a bowl so it keeps it shape. I didn't because the bowl was not oven safe and it flattened out to more like a plate.I plan on using it to make some stamps and sprigs but I have not yet. Will definitely use this again for fun.

Je l'ai utilisé pour fabriquer des pins, c'est très clean, facile à modeler, et cuit en 30min donc on peut les peindre dans la foulée. Ne sèche pas, on peut retravailler la pâte après un jour où deux. Bon rapport qualité prix.

Every artist has different preferences but i find sculpey is my favorite clay to work with because of the consistency. It softens easily with some kneading, but keeps stiff enough to hold its shape and not flatten while sitting on the table. This consistency makes it easy to sculpt and carve to create whatever you want. Ive been using it for years and its still the best and most affordable option for me 😁
