Some customers find it useful to use one arm to push the Seat Guide down first, allowing you to shimmy back with your hips. When you set yourself up the key thing is that you should only go as far back as your body’s proportions allow. The Seat Guide is just that: a Guide for the path of motion. So this means that anywhere it hits you is fine so long as it is in contact with you. It may be the case that it fits further back on your hips and that’s okay, so long as you’re able to get feedback from it. The process for getting back is to move your hips as far back from the handrails as possible while simultaneously lifting your chest, engaging your core, and slightly tucking the tailbone. This ensures a straight spine and lets you know you’ve gone as far back as your proportions allow. The Seat Guide will then meet you where you’re at. Best, The DB Method
