Is this tree like the picture? It looks like branches hide the center pole, but in review pictures it looks like a different tree??

The branches don’t cover the intire pole. However they do have the the same material wrapping the center pole. Kinda like o rings.

Can the tree be used outdoors?

I wouldn’t use it outdoors. It’s tinsel so if it’s wet the little pieces will all stick together. And the base is metal so again if it gets wet it might rust.

How many pieces does the branch portion come in?

2, I believe. Top & bottom. Very narrow tree and worked well for my location.
