ChefAlarm Professional Cooking Thermometer, Probe and Timer for Oven, Smoker, BBQ, Meats, Bread

I have had this now for several months. It is excellent and very versatile. I always use a temperature probe to check the progress of meat being cooked in the oven, this ensures correct doneness. This probe is excellent for that, reliable and accurate. The specification states a temperature range of -50 to 300 degrees Celsius. Most units I have owned only go to 200 degrees or so and the probes are prone to failure if left in meat in the oven. I also bought the mini needle probe which is very fast to read and seems to give a very localised temperature reading, making it ideal for checking steaks. It has both high an low alarms so you can check that an oven or fridge is holding a temperature within a band. Also useful for checking the temperatures in the deep freeze etc. An excellent purchase.

I have had many many brands of meat thermometer over the years. This one is the absolute Daddy of them all. It is an accurate, fast, professional thermometer with a combined timer which also shows how mach you overrun if you miss the alarm. It has a minimum temperature feature for if you are chilling food or if you want to maintain food between two temperatures when cooking. You can achieve perfect roasts, simmers and most other forms of cooking with this devise. I also use when barbecuing to make sure the food is properly cooked right through without being overdone. Just wait for the alarm and the food is perfect. There are much cheaper models but in this case you definitely get what you pay for.

Solidly made and works well. The only reason it doesn't have five stars is that it is difficult to see without pressing the light button.. That means that, in many light, you can't just look across the kitchen to see how time is going. You have to walk over to it and press the light button. I like the strong magnets built into it and its nice to have a case to keep the thermometer in.

Extremely handy device, bought originally to assist with Christmas turkey in a bid to ensure something moist and tender and still fully cooked arrived at the table. Cooked in about 60% of the time most recipe books suggested and was excellent, juicy, tender and delicious. Since tried on lots of poultry and other meats with equal success. Has also convinced me of the benefits of resting meat before carving or serving. Very easy to use and very successful, highly recommend.

This cooking thermometer works very well. I tried it at Christmas when cooking a slow roasted joint of meat and it helped to ensure the meat was thoroughly cooked. The temperature probe is long enough for even large pieces of meat, the display is large and easy to read and the unit seems to be well made.

I bought it for 18 pounds and for that price it's fine but I don't think it's worth the 40+ pounds it's sold for now. It's fine. It does the job but I don't think it's that accurate and the metal wire of the probe is just amazingly annoying to use.

ETI has the reputation for making some of the best digital thermometers in the world........and this one is highly recommended. Bought it for use in my BBQ smoker, and works brilliantly. My only improvement would be to include a clip for a BBQ rack instead of the clip included which is for holding against the side of a saucepan........but a minor niggle. Liked it so much, have ordered two more, so I can have one for air temp inside the smoker, and two others for keeping inserted inside the meat inside the smoker.

Ok firstly the positives. The thermometer does quick and accurate readings, and I have used it to check air temperatures in fridges/freezers and ovens to make sure they are operating at their correct levels. There is a lot of features; a (countdown) timer, stopwatch, alarm notifications when it drops below or exceeds a lower and upper threshold, multiple audible levels (including alarm off), can alternate between celsius and fahrenheit, has a backlight button, and comes with a case and clip to attach it to a pot/pan. Now for the negatives from minor to severe. The probe wire frays. When I first got it, and it was brand new there were a few wires protruding out along the probe cable, and with longer use it's only gotten worse. Alarm has no cutoff period when using timer, so it will continue to beep until you turn it off, be that 10 seconds or an entire day. After a countdown elapses, it will countup the time since finishing. So if you need a timer to reset to a preset time after it runs out, this is not the device for you. And it's biggest letdown is it's durability. I have two of these because the first one failed (it would intermittently turn on and off) just after the warranty ran out. Opening it up and upon inspection I determined a cable had split as you can see from the photo. I've no idea what caused it, whether placing the device on a oven door degraded the plastic, or alternating the angle of the display repeatedly did this. Either way, I feel this should have been a quality control issue because I would imagine it was meant to be fixed to the outside of the oven door what with it's strong magnets, and I certainly didn't straighten/unstraighten it enough times to the point where wear could occur to that degree. So if you plan on buying this, I would suggest not placing it on the oven door and choose the angle of the display and keep it that way. Bought at the time for £18. If I bought it at it's current £42 price, it would have been a 3 star.

Super thermomètre !

Es ist super robust gebaut, die Tasten sind gut und es sieht echt Wertigkeit aus, wäre da nicht dieses Display. Es ist bei eingeschalteter Beleuchtung nur aus einem spezifischen Winkel ablesbar. Wenn man gerade drauf blickt bekommt man beinahe Kopfweh... vielleicht nicht ganz so drastisch, aber es ist seltsam.

Best thermometer I have used till date .

Ottimo prodotto, lo utilizzo molto in pasticceria, specialmente quando sono da solo e ho il pentolone sopra il fuoco! Ne avevo uno i uguale ma si sono rotti i cristalli del monitor, e l’ho ricomprato!

È ottimo lo consiglio soprattutto per chi sia e non solo, farne senza glutine la cottura e perfetta
