Vintage Bicycles: How to Find and Restore Old Cycles Paperback – October 31, 2017

The book is blessed with wonderful pictures and a well-written text. Gianluca Zaghi is a luminary in his field and so it is not surprising that here, in my humble opinion, a real standard work lies ahead of me. Gorgeous as the author dives into the subject and animates you to do the same. The book is written with passion and abundant expertise. I would like to recommend it to anyone interested in this field.

Lots of pretty pictures, but the text is all generalities. Author does not "drill down" into detail. Oh, and I hope you like (don't we all?) Italian bikes, I don't think there's a single picture of anything else. I'll keep looking for a book with more specifics, like thread sizes and such.

As a procedural guide or technical reference this is a bit out dated and lacking. It is a nice nostalgic piece. I'm glad to have it in my library, not sure why.

This book is a labor of love on the part of the author - full of wonderful pictures and helpful insights on restoring vintage bicycles. Inspiring!

This is not a true Hardcover book. The covers are only slightly thicker than a paperback and are easily bent when reading. Just started reading the book. Very small print. Great photos. Will update when finished reading on the content.

This is a super book that oozes love and exudes passion. The delightful anecdotes give an insight into the world of the collector restorer. To live and breath bicycles is clearly a driven desire and you're taken on a journey from beginning to end. This is not a manual, it's not a 1,2,3 how to, it's a journey, it's trip and an introduction to the world of vintage bicycle restoration. Enjoy and have fun, and always ride every bicycle you own. Missing the all important index as any book of reference must have. Highly recommended.

I bought this for my husband. He loves restoring old bikes. He appreciated this book although he said it talks about Italian bikes and not british. Otherwise he's happy with it

I have found this book a real pleasure to read, it is impossible not to be inspired by the passion the author has for bicycles. The structure and content is very informative with beautiful photography illustrating everything from the vintage bicycles, tools, workshops to the people. Despite the title, this is not your typical "How To" guide, it is a much more interesting journey into the world of vintage bicycle restoration.
