Style Me Vintage: Hair: Easy step-by-step techniques for creating classic hairstyles

This book is brilliant, the pictures are clear & the steps are easy to follow. Its got a good variety of looks from over the years and some useful tips.It arrived very quickly and is a good quality hard backed book.Ive even had a visit to the authors salon as i loved the book so much and wanted a helping hand with a style.Well worth the money.

This book is a must for someone starting out with recreating vintage styles, and an excellent buy for any vintage lover.The book covers a variety of step by step styles, with plenty of room and encouragement to experiment and take the looks in different directions. I particularly liked the lists of equipment and the easy to follow picture guides.

Like it says in the title of the review a great little book for getting vintage hairstyle ideas. Good pictures and a clear explaination on most of the styles which can be quite easily recreated with equipment you would normally have at home. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that I think a few of the styles require 2 people to do and it contradicts itself a little in some of the explanation, for example you are told to use heated rollers, pin curl or tong for one of the steps yet the photo clearly shows velcro rollers being used.

Really lovely book great step by step guide to beautiful retro hairdos. I used this for a hen party and it was perfect. I almost feel underdressed without a posh do. So good I bought a second copy for my little sister looking forward to reading the rest of the range.

This tends to lean more towards the rockabilly and the 40s trend. The styles also are catered for short to medium hair for the majority which didn’t work for my long hair. I was looking for a book with more late 50s to the mid-70s styles and a bit more depth than this book offers unfortunately.I would recommend this for someone who has never watched a youtube tutorial on vintage hairstyles or a teenager or younger person that is just starting out.I was disappointed that there wasn’t much depth and at times there were no instructions for some styles for which direction to place the rollers, this affects the way the curl sits and the whole look so I was slightly frustrated that it wasn’t covered.As others have said, I liked the textiles between each section.
