PetStep Dog Ramp for Pools (Long Legs, Khaki/Beige)

Have a vinyl liner in my inground pool and a large Lab/Hound. Any pool owner knows that is a recipe for a VERY EXPENSIVE nightmare/disaster waiting to happen. PETSTEP pool ramp has been a godsend. Now I can enjoy my dog and my pool worry free. This is a solid and securely built product - very sturdy and I love the rubber capped feet for extra liner protection. When ramp is placed in pool, the legs take on water for extra stability so no need having to deal with hanging on extra burdensome weights for stability. I have a chlorine pool, so easy to put in and out of pool when not in use and legs are designed to auto drain water effortlessly. Customer service is beyond excellent. I had minor issue with one of the aluminum legs not inserting in the ramp during initial install. The legs are very sturdy and designed rock solid so not even sure how that happened. Called customer service and they sent me a replacement the next day. If you want peace of mind and a company who stands behind their product - well....here it is. Perfect solution! Easy to install and to store away. Takes 5 minutes. Well made - sturdy. The dog loved it almost immediately. Pool is now safer and he can get in and out without us having to get in and out with him. LIVE IT.

So initially I really wanted to give this product 5 stars. We love it and it’s amazing. We love how sturdy it is and how easy it was to step up. Now my only issue, and it maybe as a result from human error but we keep this item in our pool 24/7 as we don’t want our pup to have an accident outside. And the only issue is that the paint/ outside coating started to flake and raise up off the board itself. Other than that, we love this product but I would recommend, keeping it out of the sun and maybe only having it in the pool when you’re outside or in the pool with your pup to ensure maximum longevity.

perfect for my grandpup! Seems a little pricey but what can you do ?! Chemicals (maybe chlorine?) seem to attach to the legs like barnacles but do wash off. Made entering and especially existing the pool perfect for him! I ordered the standard size and while it's a little too steep to be set up along the top edge of the pool, its perfect when set up on the top step of my in-pool ladder (although then that blocks the ladder for us humans! lol!)

We had a new puppy who was afraid to go down the steps into the pool and this ramp was an immediate solution! It has a grid on the ramp surface so no slipping as the pup came down and launched off into the water, or as he returned to the ramp to come out of the pool. Assembly was easy. We did find the screws holding the legs on the ramp would come loose after a full day of use but were easily tightened. We also have an adult dog that sometimes used the ramp as well so it got lots of daily use. With the heavy use the casing the screws went into loosed and broke. Today I sent an email to the company hoping to purchase new casings. It's been a year since we bought the ramp so I wasn't expecting the customer service I received. Within an hour of sending my email I received a phone call and on a Saturday! While I only wanted new casings, I am instead getting an entirely new ramp sent to me! Their customer service is ABOVE AND BEYOND. I highly recommend the ramp and any product sold by Handi Products! They back up what they make and sell!

Great ramp except it’s meant to go in pool, yet the metal on it has corroded over a very short period. The ramp was only a use for a few months before corrosion started on the metal parts. Very disappointing. Additionally, more concerning is with the pool chemicals, The coating on the ramp came off into my pool and I had to completely drain the pool and clean it because my filter wouldn’t get all of the debris off of the pool floor and I did not want that on myself or my Dogs and this pool is actually for my working dog. Other than that, it’s a sturdy well built ramp.

We have been trying to get our young Golden Retriever comfortable in the pool but she has been very hesitant…until now! This is exactly what she needed; a wide footing and gradual water entry. We love it. It’s not really heavy but is awkward to carry fully extended with the pool legs attached. The kit came with the pool legs plus the stability bar. It seems too much trouble to remove the stability bar (which prohibits it from folding up) and potentially losing the hardware when you’re going to use it the next day. It’s plenty sturdy but does move around a little when your pup is over-excited and trying to run up or you bump into it. But really, it doesn’t permanently attach to anything so some movement should be expected. Since this was primarily purchased to use as a regular dog ramp that folds up during the non-swim seasons, it’s not something that would keep me from recommending it.

Exactly what I need in theory - but the ramp does not sink! Even after removing all the air bubbles under the ramp AND using bungies to attach weight to the bottom, the ramp plastic is neutrally buoyant which is a problem because the second water movement in the pool hits the ramp it starts to shift and move around in the pool. My dog got spooked by it so all the on-land work to familiarize him with it was for nothing. On top of that, I noticed several areas of poor quality injection molding, plastic stress marks, and poor welds right out of the box so I don't feel good about the longevity of this product. I was hoping this ramp would save me the effort of building one, but instead all I bought myself was a large object that will be a pain to return in addition to needing to build a ramp
