ULANZI FALCAM F38 Camera Shoulder Strap Mount Quick Release Base V2, Camera Clip for Cameras Shoulder Strap Quick Mount/Release (Base)

I invested in the F38 tripod head so having that already on my camera made this a perfect addition to my camera strap. I don’t always like having the strap on my camera and this allows me to quickly detach it. I’ll even leave the strap around my neck and unclip from it to attack to my tripod. I also bought the backpack mount in F38 and the whole system is awesome, quick and secure. These are very rugged and should last a lifetime.

It snaps on to my camera with a satisfying sound. Its build quality is really sturdy and seems reliable at the time of this review. It carries my EOS R100 + RF70-200mm F2.8L IS USM just fine. It's very stable and functionality wise, it's so easy to mount and unmount your camera. The design is pretty sleek too and weighs almost nothing on your body.

I have the version 1 of this plate, but the plate I have installed on my camera is the 2 way (PD/Falcam) version as I need to be able to mount it on my backpack with the PD clip and on my tripod with the F38 mounting plate. The V1 plate only accepts F38 plates so I had to mount my camera to it sideways instead if the more secure downward motion. The V2 fixes that and fulfills a need that Peak Design clip owners have been waiting for. Thank you Ulanzi for this great design!

Such a good combo with the Peak Design Micro Clutch. Glad I found it!

I used to use peak design's clip v3 on my peak design lite strap, but after using this, and changing my plate to a PD + F38 combo 2-in-1 plate, I've used this as my strap clip, and used the PD clip either attached to my backpack, or attached to my pro pad v2. This offering from ulanzi seems more secure, no clicking woibbling sounds.

I'm using this with a wider Peak Designs camera strap (that was too bulky to use before) and it really transforms how you can grip the camera. I'm using a Peak Designs bottom plate which fits perfectly into this quick release and with the camera strap attached directly to this Falcam quick release. The camera hangs with the lens down which is much better than having the rear screen rubbing against your hip. When you use the camera, the wide strap doesn't get in the way, so your hands are completely free. I can remove the camera easily to put onto a tripod (the PD bottom plate is Arca Swiss compatible). Using a wide strap makes carrying my camera with a big lens comfortable, while allowing me to use the camera without the strap getting in the way.

Product seems well made and strong, I must have gotten a bad one as the safety latch that pops out when the base plate is inserted does not work. I will return this item.
